I am not a NASCAR fan but I do have to salute the NASCAR fans for their Bronx cheer for Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden! I loved it!!

I may not like Nascar at all, but I sure gained allot of respect for their fans with regards to how welcoming they were of the first lady. And to the media who actually covered it. I would never sit through a Nascar race, but the Huffington Post put a video of it on their front page. The boo birds were definitely present! Smile

If that would have been on NBC it would have never been on tv. Thank you NASCAR fans----you gave me hope.

Nothing like showing people a bad experience at a race. Maybe you should sit next to a family who brings their children to a race and get sloppy drunk and foul mouthed so they come back again. If you don't like something it's okay to boo but c'mon Nice, real nice.

Maybe at Daytona they can get John Boehner, or Mitch McConnell, or someone from faux news to represent the tax cuts and all the jobs they created - now that would be something to cheer about!

I cant think of too many politicians that would be cheered these days. Between all the pointless wars, corporate bailouts, and general fascism there is not a whole lot to cheer for. Both parties are terrible and do not give us a very good choice. I for one am tired of picking between the lesser of two evils. Can I just pick something good?

Maybe at Daytona they could get John Boehner or Mitch McConnel who knows. Bet they would not get the warm and fuzzy reception that the first lady did. And so what if they did, the point would be mute and expected then. It was just really cool to see it happen to those folks, and it is about time!

You can't tell the world you are ashamed of your country and then get in front of 150,000 rednecks and expect to be welcomed with open arms. Pick up the clue phone, lady. Its not your crowd!

I stand on the other side of the political aisle from you and I agree with your post, we show our gotcha mentality far too often anymore...

Michelle brought this upon herself when she said she was NOT proud to be an American and how dare you bring race (socialist darkies) into this issue! As far as fan booing the military families, that is not who the fans were booing! I don't question the loyalty of NASCAR fans toward our military but I do question the loyalty of liberals. I doubt many of military families or race fans respect President Obama or Michelle.

How did the liberals, actors, musicians, media and academia treat George Bush? They booed him and call him all kinds of derogitory names. I guess your free speach is protected, but free speach of others with opposing views is questioned and limited.

Found this>>>> "There likely would be no NASCAR without the Obama “bailout” of GM and Chrysler…you can’t run races with just one manufacturer. All the down-stream suppliers and auto malls and dealers would have sunk faster than iron-turds if Obama hadn’t stood up and saved these companies..who have now recovered, AND paid back their loans".

I campaigned for Obama (after Kucinich was out) but am disappointed in him. But that was no way to treat Michelle, confirms all the negative stereotypes of NASCAR fans.

For all of those who did not see the clip, but wish to comment otherwise, The crowd cheered rather loudly when the Military families were mentioned, cheered rather loudly for the balance of the people on the stand, and booed rather loudly when the first lady and her cohort were mentioned. It was very intentional and NOT aimed at anyone but the first lady and her cohort.......For someone who made as many promises of change as Mr. Obama and his wife did, they should be expecting boos when all they did was carry on the current failing agenda plus Obamacare......It is what it is. For all of the folks who are currently upset, maybe you should have considered how this all would play out when you were bashing the previous administration. Turn about is fair play!....wink

I have to laugh at all the Kool-Aide drinking rednecks who booed at the first lady while spending their trailer rent to go see a NAPCAR race that's being ran by numerous millionaires. Then they go home and bitch about the 99 percenters protesting, when they're around the 99.89% mark....Stupidity should be a crime.....And if it was, most of the people in this thread would be in jail.

I visit here infrequently exactly because of these kinds of mindless comments in support of behavior which is at least boorish and rude, and at its worst unamerican and subtlely racist. It would behoove many of the commentators to get news from a wider spectrum, read a few history books, the Constitution and yes for some of you bible carryin' good people; try reading it completely. Finally, try to understand things in there full context, although I know Rush Limblow puts them into nice, short, simple soundbites you can understand.

I was never a NASCAR fan, but for sure now will never spend a dime on anything directly associated with their label.
