This is the third 26 numbered car in the family, so I called it '26 Tre'.

Looking good Brian, I hope to get some new paint on my coupe this fall. With the dings, dents from racing and tornados it could sure use it.

Brian,
The paint work looks great. What color orange is it? Is the family racing color?

It was supposed to be like a pumpkin orange, or really an Omaha orange. But it's orange, and and I'm happy with that.
Did a little color sanding on the tail the other day, wiped some with the 3m polishing compound, then a little more with a meguiars fine polish-the spot came out slick as glass! Now I want to eventually get the whole thing color sanded and polished, but for right now I have white scallops to put on.

Did some white scallops this weekend. Came out good enough for me. A recent storm came through last week and blew over my poor boy paint booth. So I painted the scallops in the open, and kept the grasshoppers chased off until I could put the hood and tail up. LOL

Looks like an overgrown model car! Stripes looking good, Brian. I noticed the black 56A side board, is that off the Steve Sanders car that Randy Allen drove?

Yes it is. We had the Steve Sanders car , or what was left of it until 5 years ago. That frame is now in Wichita Falls. The cage got a bit tweaked at Lawton in the mid-80's, and that was the decision maker for parking it.

Yes this is the car I intend to run on track. We'll see.

I had to get a glimpse of it in the daylight, and see if the lines still speak to me. They do!
Fitting up the nose today, getting ready to shoot the nose, after the mods have to be done.

You nailed it on the nail head, the only way to haul a vintage race car is on an open trailer!!! Oh by the way, the Super looks very good!!

I think I know that frame, the X Brace in the back kind of through me off a bit and the 6 pt. being gone but looking at it closer and looking at the shock tower mounts and looking at the cage for a while and yep I think I know something about that frame.

Yes it is the original Hog Wagon. And yes I know that it looks like nothing it has before.
I originally intended to use an old Walker frame I had when this project began, but the main rails were bent upward on the right side. So I did some measuring and found that an Edmunds body would fit just fine on this one with a few changes, and of course this frame was in much better condition. At the time, I wanted it street legal and I knew of no one close that was into the era I was into, and I wanted a track nose that fit juuuuusssst so. So I cut off the torsion bar tubes, and put on coil overs. I still get some grief over that move, but if this car ever handles well enough, I'm sure that will be a moot issue.

I noticed the Coil Overs on front , the shock towers plus seeing where the 6 pt. was on back of cage helped me some, the original Hog Wagon was a heavy one for sure, I seen that right shock tower in the video where it was rewelded back on when it got knocked off at what is now Brill Motor Speedway when then it was Meeker Speedway. That car only 2 wins with that frame came at Meeker in 92 and 94, had a bunch of 2nd's at Echo Ranch in Ada in 89 , think like 6 in a row and about 8 or so total. Just could not find one more spot on those nights , the last time I ran it in 94 I believe it got on it lid at Meeker as well , when "The Flying Dutchman" was running Jack Claxton's #2 that was Scott Claxton's ride till he quit racing and Dutch started running it and went into turn 3 guardrail and kind of bounced off the guardrail back across the track and collected the Hog Wagon and Doni Vance was shoein it then and Dutch popped our RR tire and over the left side we went flipping , took the car apart and never ran it again as I bought a Challenger Sprint Frame and ran it a couple of years before I sold it and got back into running 100" Modifieds once again and bought an 84 Nance for $50 from a guy in Tulsa and raced it several years , wish I still had that Nance Frame. Oh well I think I know who still has it , but not for sure.
Anyway,Brian just some history on that frame that you have that you might not be aware of .
