For making the single worst call in Super Bowl History.  Marshawn the whirling dervish is simply about impossible to tackle because he is the spin cycle on a new washer and you decided to throw the ball.  Harsh reality for Mr. Wilson and please no more silly talk about the greatest defense of all-time.  Tom exposed the most over-rated secondary in years yesterday with 38 completions even if they were the dink and dunk variety.  Their silence is deafening, justice has been served.....

Skagit is still among my top 5 favorite Tracks I have ever been to, to sprint this up for the negative Nancies who are soon to get their skirts in a bunch....

I give credit number 21 for the patriots, that guy made one hell of a play on that. Pass, run Lynch, fade, qb sneak, whatever the Monday morning coaches feel should have been called the bottom line is if that corner doesn't make a quick read and jump that route its a Seattle touchdown.

"Tom exposed the most overrated secondary in years with 38 completions??"

38 completions with only a couple that came further than 15 yards down the field.  I'd say that was a good gameplan on behalf of McDaniels, and bad one on behalf of Quinn.  If Brady was throwing frozen ropes all over the field and threading the needle on a ton of passes downfield, your analysis would have merit, but he was throwing three to five yard routes.  He played a good game and deserved MVP, but calm down, Hoss.

And how are the Seahawks overrated?  Last year their defense was first in fewest pts allowed, fewest rush yds allowed, fewest pass yds allowed, and fewest total yds allowed.  This year they were first again in every single category except for rush yds, which they were third.  They also played in what was regarded as the toughest division in football this year.  So you can't use their schedule as an excuse.  I mean I don't like the Seahawks either, but your argument is ridiculous.

If you're a Patriots fan, enjoy the Super Bowl win, and brag a little bit because you've earned it.  Just don't be a knob.

St. Louis and San Fran were creampuffs this year Utah and Arizona won with mirrors and magic, certainly not Offense.  As so often happens their big mouths (The Legion of Doom, err Boom) ended up falling on deaf ears, you must be one of the kool-aid drinkers.  Idiots were talking about the greatest Defense of all-time, an insult to the Bears of the mid-late 80's the Steel Curtain in Pittsburgh and even the Purple People Eaters in Minny.  A couple of slow white guys (Brady and Gronk) and a couple more undersized white receivers (Edelman and Amendola) made the highly over-rated secondary look average at best.  I am not a Pats fan but I had enough $$$ bet on them yesterday to qualify as one, lol.....   PS  I think he only completed 37, my bad, I do know/think it was a Super Bowl record, oops.....

Wow--can tell there are no Bear's fans on this site right now.  I watched the play call and said to myself "that's what the Bears would have done"  so I was kind of thrown when everyone thought it was stupid.  I'm just used to passing from the 1 yard line a couple of times and then kicking the field goal.       Smile

Just kidding--terrible call

St. Louis was a dangerous team.  They had a good defense and San Fran was not a creampuff.  You're showing your age with your references, but hey, everything from the past was soooo much better.

Again, this offense was throwing the ball three to five yards down the field, not 15 to 20.  It was a great gameplan.  Injuries also helped the Pats, as Sherman will probanly need Tommy John surgery to repair his elbow, Earl Thomas had a dislocate dshoulder and a torn labrum, plus Chancellor tweaked his knee.  Added to that Lane broke his arm on the first INT of the game.  I also made money on the Pats as well.  Quit being a moron.

By the way, find me a better division in the NFL this year than the NFC West.  As I said, I hate the Seahawks too, but your arguments are weak.

I wasn't aware Utah had a pro football team?

AFC North - 3 out of 4 teams in the playoffs.

San Fran was a train wreck from the get-go with the Harbaugh saga. By the end of the season, the Cardnals couldn't beat their way out of a wet paper bag. Yes, St Louis was interesting, but they finished at 6-10, can't say they were a threat to Seattle.

Utah, it's wake up time Dude, get a clue.  Brady through 4 TD's and averaged 9 yards a completion against the greatest set of DB's alive, LOL and as previously mentioned the AFC North is a better conference right now.  Can't believe you went to the injury whine so early but that's what you do when you have no real excuse I guess.  As to the age factor I'm guessing me and most of the other guys agreeing with my point have likely forgot more about football than you actually know.  I'm sure you'll make another weak comeback and prove it, here's your sign......

EGRAS, I have cheered for the Bears soooo long I once had a St. Bernard called Butkus when Dick was actually playing, him and Sayers in the H of F and they never played a play-off game.

MSPN, enjoy making your argument.  Why let facts get in your way?

I was calling out your hyperbole and the fact that Brady "exposed" the secondary. How??  He threw for 328 yards yes, but 159 of them were run after the catch yards.  Take 159 yards divided by his 37 completions and you get about 4.5 yds.  Wow, he's really whipping the ball downfield and obliterating that secondary.  You make it sound like Tom was destroying the defense by himself.   In terms of the injuries, yes, I do feel its relevant.  If it was bumps, bruises, or sprains, I would say otherwise.  These were serious injuries.  As for forgetting more football than we young people actually know... please dude.  Your assertion that Brady, and Brady alone "exposed" the D with no credit to the gameplan, shows me what you know about football.

Larsonfan, you are correct, I forgot about the AFC North, I stand corrected.  I guess I blocked Marvin Lewis and Andy Dalton out of my mind.  Haha.  St. Louis did beat Seattle in the regular season though.

I would somewhat agree with people getting really excited over the Seahawks defense given who they played the last 6 weeks.

The last 6 Qbs they played in the regular season were Kaepernick (twice), Ryan Lindley (Arizona 3rd stringer) twice, Mark Sanchez and Shaun Hill.

But it's unfair to say they're completely overrated. The rules favor the offense totally and completely these days and they have been virtually dominant for the past 3 years. Pretty impressive.

I likely get to more games a year than you do and can guarantee without knowing anything about you other than the silliness you post here that I have been to dozens more pro-sporting events than you (MLB, NFL, NHL).  I likely win and lose more in football betting a year than you make, lol.....PS....If this is a such a big time racing board then how did you get on here with an embarassingly handle like that unless you putting your IQ up next to the worst car on the planet and feeling kewl about yourself, lol.....

I just figured that the Seahawks contacted Josh heupel (Oklahoma's former play caller) for his advice on what to do.  What is with all of these Coaches that make dumb ass calls in the final minute of critical games?  And, by the way MSPN, has the dust ever settled at Skagit?

Utah, thanks for proving my point, fool.  Brady and Brady alone, huh, I mentioned 3 other players, do you not even read what I post?  I think not, lol.  By the way, I will say it more slowly this time,  he exposed the secondary by completing 37 passes the most in Super Bowl History, they are the facts and it matters little to me or anyone else how far he threw the ball, he threw it far enough to complete FOUR TOUCHDOWN PASSES.  Are you related to Ford, he's one of the dumber folks around here, methinks he brought you into the fray????

Lord, this is getting to be fun again, leaving the office early today so I might not be able to respond for a while, this will give you a chance to  think of something smarter to say, or actually read my posts or the wiser of the three, lose your computer....

Not sure Roger, don't keep up on things much anymore, wasn't aware this was an issue.  I will always be a big fan of Steve Beitler though.  He invited me to his Outlaw show back in the 90's ( I think) and it was the single greatest day I ever had selling photos (Nationals excluded)....

PS  Last week I finished Dave Grohl's book THIS Is a CALL, that's semi-connected to the Seattle area, great book, two thumbs up heh heh

It's all good - as a Steelers fan living in the heart of Bengals country, I'd rather forget the first round of the playoffs this year!
