Utah, thanks for proving my point, fool.  Brady and Brady alone, huh, I mentioned 3 other players, do you not even read what I post?  I think not, lol.  By the way, I will say it more slowly this time,  he exposed the secondary by completing 37 passes the most in Super Bowl History, they are the facts and it matters little to me or anyone else how far he threw the ball, he threw it far enough to complete FOUR TOUCHDOWN PASSES.  Are you related to Ford, he's one of the dumber folks around here, methinks he brought you into the fray????

Lord, this is getting to be fun again, leaving the office early today so I might not be able to respond for a while, this will give you a chance to  think of something smarter to say, or actually read my posts or the wiser of the three, lose your computer....

Did you read your first post?  The only player you mentioned was Brady.  That's why I took exception to your argument.  Only in your second post did you then mention other players.  Had you mentioned the receivers, the runs after the catch, the game plan, and not referred to Seattle's secondary as "overrated" in your first post, I wouldn't have minded at all.  It actually would have been a sound argument and a rational post to boot.

Secondly, no one has agreed with your viewpoint of the Seattle D yet.  I copped to forgetting about the AFC North.  When I'm wrong, or make a dumb comment and get called out on it, I'll admit it.  You? Not so much.

Wow--can tell there are no Bear's fans on this site right now.  I watched the play call and said to myself "that's what the Bears would have done"  so I was kind of thrown when everyone thought it was stupid.  I'm just used to passing from the 1 yard line a couple of times and then kicking the field goal.       Smile

Just kidding--terrible call

Well put.    Before I saw you wrote this, I was going to answer with "I don't know any Bear fans with the intelligence to watch Sprint Cars, well, except for one".  LOL

The Seattle "D" was and is NO WAY comparable to the Bears Defense.  They couldn't carry their collective jocks.......

Time to put a cap on this for Mr. Utah.  As to Brady, there were 106 players dressed for Sundays tilt and for some reason unexplained to you the sportswriters covering the game thought to pick Tommy Boy the MVP and I didn't even have a vote.

As to the vaunted Seattle DB situation how beautifully ironic that the last significant play of the game was made by a DB and he wasn't on that team, OMG.  A previously unheard of rookie D-2 player jumps the route and becomes the star DB of the game after TB thrashed the over-rated guys 37 times, amazing.  I think my work is done here.

PS  Maddog, I got a book for Christmas, MONSTERS the 1985 CHICAGO BEARS and the wild heart of football.  It is a must read.  300 pages you will love....Get it, if you can't I could send you mine perhaps....

PPS  One last comment on 'DEFENSE'.  Bill Barnwell, the brilliant mind behind GRANTLANDS football stuff recently picked, with definition the single best defense in the NFL from 1969 till this year.  There was only one 4 consecutive year stretch, the BEARS from '85 - '88.  Yes, he does have Seattle as number one the last two years so they have a chance to get in the same ballpark but I'm hoping they don't....

Sorry MSPN, I am a Packer fan but I am also a huge football fan.  I have enough history books on MY team to read  lolol  I do know, however, that the '85 defense was one of, if not the best defensive teams EVER.  If the Bears would have had a serviceable QB instead of that ass clown Jimmy Mac, they might have wone the big game all of those years also.

I just figured that the Seahawks contacted Josh heupel (Oklahoma's former play caller) for his advice on what to do.  What is with all of these Coaches that make dumb ass calls in the final minute of critical games?  And, by the way MSPN, has the dust ever settled at Skagit?

Add Mike McCarthy to the list of coaches making BONEHEADED last minute calls.  He played to NOT LOSE, and unfortunately they DID lose.

Bear fans love Jim McMahon and I'm in that group, the only people to love him more were his teammates.  It's a shame he was injured so often he might have been one of the greatest as he was in college.  McCarthy should have been fired the next day, heck, one of his players should have just taken him out, lol.  Playing not to lose is as bad as the prevent defense as it often prevents you from winning and his play calling was amongst the worst I've ever seen that day...

Apparently my self loathing knows no bounds because I'm about to post one more (and last) time regarding this topic.  Allow me to summarize....

Your first post- Brady "exposed" the overrated Seattle D.

My first post to you- I explained why I think Seattle's D is not overrated and gave stats to back it up.  I never said they were the greatest of all time.  I guess you thought I said it.  I didn't.  I gave more credit to the New England gameplan than Brady.  I never said Brady played bad.  In fact I said Brady played a good game and deserved the MVP.  It's there.  Look.

Your work is done here because you are essentially arguing with yourself at this point.  Your PPS essentially invalidated  your entire point.  I read Barnwell too, and if he's such a brilliant mind (I think he's a great writer too), and he has them number one over the past two years, how can you say they are overrated?  It doesn't make sense.

Jesus Christ, the racing season can't get here fast enough.

Now the PA moron who I am very confident doesn't know a football from a basketball has to take a cheap shot, perfect, lol!

Utah, can you read?  I say Brady exposed the most over-rated SECONDARY, SECONDARY as in DB's, you need to re-read and try to comprehend this time, stop making up stuff which by the way is EXACTLY what Ford and brr do all the time.  I know them to be clueless do I have to put you in the category now too?   By the way, if you read another post I made you will see that I specifically say "idiots' were calling this the greatest defense of all-time, not you specifically.  That was then, I think I can safely put you in that group now tho', agreed?  Your reading comprehension leaves lots to be desired, stop getting all excited and nervous and read each post a few times before you respond, it will make you respond less and get it right more often, no charge for the help....

Ford, I toured the country for a dozen years and let everyone know where I would be and nobody, not a single person ever had the 'stones' to actually confront me with anything but a handshake and there was some juicy stuff going on back in the day, especially PA.  You are likely one of those types, keyboard tough guys.  As an old Canuck hockey player I have told lots of stories about my past on here and I enjoyed a scrap as much as I did the game and I played it at a high level for many, many years.  I have rarely replied to people in this forum because most don't have a valid email address and it's been a long time since I sent anything in a negative way unless it was to respond to their first shot.  I don't generally start it but I do like to finish them, take that for what it's worth

Been here since the beginning, never knew about this, sheesh!

I have tried to send other replies but they were to email accounts that never existed and believe it or not almost every one was a positive response about something I liked or something I was trying to support them with.  I am 98% positive and the only negative stuff comes from those that generally jealous or just plain DUMB.  I lived the life of reilly (sp) for lots of years getting paid to go to sprint car races and getting paid well thanks to my photo sales, many people didn't like that and many, many more wished they could have done it as well.  It was a dream job and easily the best days of my life in a working sense.

Not sure where your problem came in, don't remember anything about you to be honest.  I did own a Ford once and it was nothing but problems, I owned it because I needed a van in my work.  In my real life I owned a mustang for a short time, it was stolen and I never had another, I have owned imported cars from the first one I owned 'till today and only had US vehicles due to my job.

Thanks for letting me know about this, I will be responding more often now when I agree with a poster, don't come around here much but look in from work where I do nothing most days and get bored very easy.  This debate has produced positive action again, yahoo....

Take It Easy....

I am very far from agreeing with you on Jimmy Mac but the rest of your post  DEAD ON.  I told my Daughter half way into the third that the Packers were playing to NOT LOSE.  I had to explain it.  Yes, I agree 100% he should have been canned.  They can't beat SF, and can't beat Seattle.  I don't care how many MVP's Rodgers gets, if they cannot beat thise teams, they are an average team, nothing more, nothing less.  I will stop now, as I am getting aggravated all over again.

here we go again...Nelligan's 12 year tour of cheap wine stores financed by selling WalMart dupe's of Earnhardt to muffler shop mechanics...and when his free pass to walk thru the gate was revoked, he "retired".

Mark, you are simply losing your mind wtf?  You were the first person I told that I was 'retiring' and moving back to Canada, I told you in your friggin' living room, you going to deny that too?  You also knew about all the CUP stuff I had and were upset that it outsold most Sprint stuff, especially your Posse, lol.  You want to deny that I shot all that stuff too?  You have done nothing in this forum but make up stuff about me for years and it reflects some serious brain issues or more likely some jealousy.  While you tried to sell speakers I was touring the country getting paid and boy you must have hated that and sadly still to, grow the hell up.  You did inspire me to send an email though, first one in years, hope you read it and it makes some sense to you, time to look in the mirror dude and get over this hate/jealousy and move on....

PS  Not really a wine fan either, never have been, that's probably more along your tastes if you catch my drift.....
