What scale is the car? The Coupe looks cool. I've got a couple of kits my Grandson and I are planning on assembling this winter.

The body is from a 1/24th scale 1934 Monogram Ford three window coupe converted to a 1934 Chevy three window coupe. The frame is from a 1/25th scale1937 AMT Chevy kit. Headers were bent from just a common clothes hanger as well as the front and rear bumpers and roll cage. I love the old 1937 Chevy coupes that ran in Lawton and Wichita Falls during the early '60's till they started running these full body coupes and sedans with V/8 power during the middle '60's till the early '70's.

Thanks for the info. I didn't pick up on the D window at first glance, now it stands out. Yep, the 37 Chevy's are cool or did you mean 34.

If I had to choose, the 1937 Chevy Coupes with inline six cylinders that ran in the early '60's to the middle '60's are my all time favorite type of racing. There was just something magic about those cars and the drivers we had as well. Lawton Speedway and Wichita Speedway in Wichita Falls, Texas were the places to be on Friday and Saturday nights during the summer.

Stan,
I have lots of photos from both Lawton and Wichita Falls but I don't think I have any of your car by itself. I'll check just to be sure. I have lots of programs and remember the Sunday Constitution that always had a preview of the season. I have a few of them. I'll check for you. One reminder to all of you that are on RFTP. Don't forget about our Racers Reunion October 22nd in Wichita Falls. We are planning on starting a Wall of Fame for the Texhoma area. We will be inducting different people every year. I will be posting our flyer when I get it printed with all the information. Thank you all for the remarks on my models. I just love to build them to bring back so many great memories.

Stan, I might have a pic of your Modifed packing the track , when it was black frame I believe and had the silver/gray body with white 72 , not sure what year , just know you lived over there on 6th St. back then kind of behind Mac's 7/12 Grocery on Lee Blvd., back then you were one of the southside racers of Lawton. Will try and look for it in the near future and see if I can find it.

Stan, Good to hear from you as well, will look and try and find it and let you know on here by posting something and can get it to you to make some copies.
Stan was a one man show, I remember that as well. By the way stopped in and ate a Salas Mexican Restaurant at 2nd & Lee Blvd. a couple of Sat. ago on way to the races and it was just as good as it was 25 yrs. ago , which was prolly last time I ate there.

Rusty,
I have built Wayne's #141 "Little Boy Blew" from 1966. I'm also building Wayne's #6 from 1967 and #161 from 1970. "Little Boy Blew" is posted on this site somewhere along with some of my other models. Don't know where though.
