Aaron Moss (vintage) and Randy Payne (360 Mod) put on a 3 laps to 4 laps match race at intermission at Crawford County Speedway last Saturday night (7-21-12). Randy had to complete 4 laps before Aaron completed 3 laps to win the match race. They ran 6 laps and Randy was only about 1/2 lap ahead. Thanks to Randy (current points leader 360 Mods) for being willing to run with Aaron and add to the show for the fans!!

Enjoy the video!!

Here's a close up (7-7-12) of the #53, 34 Chevy Coupe that was in the video. As you can see, it's not an A or E mod with a vintage body, it's running leafs in the rear and a crosspring in the front with a 300 Ford inline Big 6!! Aaron the driver is 17 years old and does one heck of a job!!

To explain this, Aarons 240 cu. in. ford six has 3/4th as many cylinders, less than 3/4ths as many cu. in. 1960's technology. Model A front axle and spring old frankland quick change, 3/4 ton style. no racing shocks. Racing with the latest 4 bar rear steer chassis so the 3 laps was 3/4s as many as the modified running 4. The results were at 6 laps the vintage car had lost 1/2 of a lap. I guess technology has not made as much more speed as you might think.
