I'm Sorry, but what bad timing is this. Although Harold is most deserving. You "brian 26" want to post a message about a Memorial race.
Did you ever stop to consider that this is the first Christmas that Alice has to spend without her husband, or that Lloyd and Jeff have to spend this Chritsmas without their Father, and the Grandchildren without their Grandfather.
Have you no compassion, I guess "Bucky Boy" will be selling Memorial Decals at the gate.
I appologize to all, but the timing and message just did not sit well with me.

I understand your concern. Before anything was even done here, a lot of communication with the family has been going on. This not for a commercial gain.
I was paid in full with an order of potato wedges, Alice picked up the tab.
Uncle A, it is not always about money, money is what ruined the sport.

Alice, Lloyd & Jeff and the rest of the family are fully aware of the Memorial Race and have approved it. We are appreciate that he is honoring Harold with this race and we appreciate your concern for the family. Hope to see you all at the race.
Merry Christmas
Annette Self
Alice's sister

Cars like these are starting to show some interest. We'll still be supermodified based, but just about everybody loves old coupes-

Hey man,
I thank you for defending what we're doing---But Uncle A and I have talked and it was ALL a misunderstanding.
He was only looking out for the Leep Familys interests. Like a good friend.

There are more cars out there i need to get pictures of, but here's a few that really turn my crank.
This car is out of Amarillo, it is Jiggs Founds ride from the '70s. It's a '76 Nance 4-bar

Far as I know, this one will be called "The Duece". It is #P2, after the notorious watering hole in Wichita Falls that for many years was a small shrine to Lloyd Ruby.

Actually, in many cases the sprinters learned from these cars. Most regional associations in this country started out as coupes/sedans. Then they slowly turned to sprint cars. Supermodifieds(100" wb, sprint style frame) bridged the gap here for 20 -30+ years depending on the class.
We're still learning just how things are the same.

Thank you for the compliment. You don't even know how much that means to me. I've always just been known to be an a**. By your telling me that I have some fiber in my diet makes me feel even better, and it saved me a $25 Doctors office visit.
So anyway, does this mean I will not be lettering your car this race season?

These cars used sometype of transmission, we didn't have shifter QC rear ends in these days. Brandon has already stated how similar these cars are to todays sprint cars but really I think there alot more similar to a modified, man I wish we had some of the driveline set-up you guys use in mods!!!
When these cars were bad fast in the dry they were healed over on the RR and carrying the LF about a foot off the ground.

I threw some more technical pictures in here. If you're interested, I have a few more I'll throw in.
Funny thing is, although you can't change the power of the industry, these are actually easier to build than the present day modified. I've heard they feel 'bout the same too when it comes to driving.

Well, I thought I had a source lined up for a wrap but things didn't pan out. Email me some photos of your work. We can kill 2 birds with one stone and get to the bottom of our apparent personal differences at the same time.
It's not HOW fast you go, but how you GO fast.
