Looks like you need to read everybody's post's. We moved on sorry you felt left out, should we have started another post? Your Majesty. I think all we are trying to do is keep conversation going so people wont think it is a second rate web site. Like you are always crying about. I am sure we can go and debate the subject elsewhere... And not get the rite act Mr. Tidbits....

Here is the deal oh mighty one, I started the post on this thread with "This was sent by anonymous, i don't agree with it but I am posting it for them anyways." I guess today somebody read the other parts of it and told Mark Brill that David Smith Jr is telling all the champ sprint guys to go to Enid instead of Meeker.

There now, does that make sense?

Thanks your Majesty, For clearing up what you were trying to say. Next time it would be nice if you could just come right out and say what you really mean. Most of us are not mind readers even if some think they are.

Randy I am laughing so hard that I can't see my computer screen.

Why do you think we run a 305 Sprint and go all the way to Texas to run. All of them are quarter mile tracks and are easy on motors, parts, and tires. 125.00 to show up and 175.00 to start. Not to mention the sealed motors make things equal. I think I have less in my sprint then I do my Limited mod and our sprint is a 2007 Maxim

Sure wish someone would run 305s here in Oklahoma and follow the SST rules

Mark has done a great job with Meeker in the short time he has had it and runs a good show. However, it just really isnt a sprintcar facility. The pits aren't designed to hold the bigger rigs. Also, the race track is pretty one groove in a sprintcar. The majority of the sprintcar guys I know dont want to go out there because of that. It is really easy to tear up a lot of stuff there and hard to pass unless you just move someone when it gets slick and on the bottom. It would cost Mark a rediculous amount of money to upgrade that place to be a "premier" facility in Oklahoma. He does a great job with what he has to work with. That place just puts on a better full body show though. Just my opinion....

Thats prolly the smartest thing I have ever heard out of Springer. That kid is amazing! LOL

Mark has done well with that place. The pits are not cut out for that many sprints. Although it sure makes pushin em easy if all the sprint guys park on that back hill. Ya dont even have to use a four wheeler to get to the staging area.

Well we did have the Big Late Model Show and there was 30 + of them besides the other classes and everything was just fine, and also we had over 100+ cars both night's of the Fall Nationals and again things worked out fine, so i still see no problem except for cars showing up to race, nothing is impossible, and also all the Late Model guy's said they liked how they were treated and liked everything about the little hole in the ground, and also said they look froward to comming back, so i guess something is going good out there, and they will be there again on May 8th also the Midwest Late Models will be there on June 26th, and the stands will be packed once again, so nothing is impossible it can be done, just my opinion.

OK if Brill's had 30+ Late models with their big haulers plus the other classes with no problem. What would be the problem with 30+ Sprint car haulers plus the other classes? And the comment about Brill's track not being able to accommodate Sprint cars is a little far fetched to me. You can tear up your stuff just about anywhere, and just about any track in this area on any given race night are one lane and slick. It's all about the driver and the car not just the track.

Amen Mr. Hilbers you hit the nail on the head, you can tear up any car at any track no matter where you race at across this great USA, I for one just want to see our sport keep growing and not be separated, nothing is impossible. We may not have the asphalt pit area, but there is more room than most think, cause Stanley Reed Sr. helped the BMS staff park all those haulers last year it worked out great. Optimism not Opposition.

People might get the impression that I am against Brill's But I am not. I just wish they would see the potential for Sprint Car racing as well as full body and modified racing. If he can put on Late Model specials and get a good car count and fill the stands he could do the same with Sprint Car specials just the same. My point is that he must not care about the open wheel fans the way that he should. The other point is that this year is a golden opportunity for Brill Motor Speedway to be known as a Sprint Car track as well as a full body and modified track. The other point is that if he does not want to really step up somebody else will and it would be his loss. You have been in this a long time as well as others and most would agree that his promoting skills needs to be some what better.

I agree and he pulls in alot of cars with the NCRA events also, and like i stated in another post he said he has no problem paying more if they just start showing up and both parties supporting each other, i remember a few years back when the car count in the sprints started going down to just 5 or 6 cars and he never once cut thier pay thats says alot in it's own way there, and anytime he says he is going to pay us what he says he sticks to his word. I don't think either party here could be hurt i think it could be a great thing for both Sprints & BMS & the Fans too. jmo...

The only problem I see with waiting to see if they will show up, before they pay a little more money is they might not show up at all. You know how the minds of drivers/owners are, they are almost like your wife they tend to be able to hold out longer lol. It's all mind games and sometimes nobody wins.

The biggest thing I learnt after being an official for over 20 years is that. You can please some of the people sometimes, but you can't please everybody at the same time. So you are Damned if you do and Damned if you don't.

Randy,

You know I agreed with you on alot of things in this post. But, you last post is what I kinda wanted people to think about. Last year at Brill's we had 12-20 cars on an avg. We kept asking ourselfs why more 2 barrel guys would not show up to race since Brill's was so close to Okc. Lawton was getting the same on a avg the same car count weekly. It is like fishing just b/c you put out the best bait does not always mean you are going to get bites.

Springer hit the nail on the head with his post. If anyone remembered the old Meeker track then they can remember it was a +++t in the hole track. Brill has turned the place around. I remember the winter nats last year as I was there and I was amazed that the pits ran smoothly in regards to getting cars to the line for line up. Shoot they had cars on the pit entrance.

Speaking of the late models. There was a guy from near my dad's home town up in Iowa. I talked to him after the races. He enjoyed the track. He was amazed how the red dirt was all over his and his crew members shirts.

Mark has added transponders to the cars this year to cut down on the questioning of calls in regards to where people finished. That tells me as a car owner/ driver that Mark is worried about how is track is viewed. I think there is still that misconception of Brill's is the old " Meeker". I am not saying that it is a NASCAR track but improvements have been made.
