Once again, like always Christina, you have hit the nail on the head. It does absolutely no good to talk to the Track Officials. You may as well talk to a brick wall or fence post, the results are the same.

However, I will say almost every Race Team in every class are totaly feed up with the current Officiating. Wether it be SFS, Lawton, or Dallas enough is enough. I for one feel that Mr. Edwards needs to hear and know this.

As far as Robert Sellars getting the black flag I believe the decision was the right call, dont get me wrong I think Robert is a damn good racer but on this given night and the amount of cars that were entered there was no need for this contact. Robert being a veteran racer will intemidate most younger racers by doing a chop job making them get of the gas

WOW!!! Another blind soul!!!! You didn't see what half the crowd saw did you? Ezell was spinning out when Sellers TRIED to avoid him, but regrettably didn't, and caused Sellers not to finish. The proof is in the video. If you would like to see that video I'm sure I can get that part posted. That in the end will show YOU and the rest of you non believers what really happened.

Robert being a veteran racer will intemidate most younger racers by doing a chop job making them get of the gas.

Let's address this pitiful comment!!! Isn't that a part of racing? Most people don't know what goes on behind the scenes of racing. Robert helps out alot, I mean ALOT of drivers at Lawton to improve their driving. He even helps out parts wise as well. Technique is one reason that many drivers are as good as they are. Sellers is one of the most humbled drivers I've seen in years. If something goes wrong and he makes a mistake he owns up to it. Not like others I've known who complain that so and so did this or that. Sellers makes a point to congratulate others for their accomplishments on the track. After all the crap Saturday night he made it a point to go see Dillon and shake his hand. This, my friend, is SPORTSMANSHIP.

I completely agree that he needs to hear about how the drivers feel. Posting about it here isn't doing any good. Even if he lurks and reads all the complaints. big deal he can read it and go on. What needs to be done, is everybody together needs to approach him and talk to him in person. Be civil about the situation (keep tempers in check) and discuss a solution.

I was really looking forward to having some great racing to watch this year, but was greatly disapointed. It was my family's saturday night routine for many years, but this year we haven't gone out there but twice. Showed up once for a regular night and was bored/disgusted, then we went for the ASCS..which I'm shocked they rescheduled their rain out from a couple of weeks ago. I would like to get our routine back in place as the kids love going out there, but until things get straightened out I'll save my money. Car count, fast track, good competetive racing, ect. The things that make you walk out of there going "WOW That was exciting!" is gone and greatly needs to be brought back.

I said I would make it to SFS before the season ends. As of now I'm planning on being there this Friday. As usual something will probably come up where I can't make it, but I'm going to try my best. It would be great if all of the drivers up there could forget the bs for one night and put on one heck of a show for my family and all others. I greatly need it, as I'm losing my spirit for racing....

Once again welcome to LANNY-VILLE if you hadn't figured it out it hasn't change in the last 30+ years. But a few years ago a thing called the LSRA (Lawton Speedway Racing Association)or Lawton Speedway Ripoff Association) was supposed the represent the drivers, as a car owner/sponsor I have not yet seen where they are representing anyone! Sounds to me like Lanny got's them in his pocket with the greenbacks that are slowly shrinking. If the association is not for the drivers then why do they exist? What have they truley done?

Racing is a Hobby for alot of us.

When's the last time you tried to talk to Lanny and feel good about the outcome. I mean you can calmy begin to discuss something with him but within a matter of minutes if he feels wronged he EXPLODES!!!!!!!!!! I'm really surprised the guy hasn't stroked out on us yet. A few years back I tried to talk to him about a wheel rule for the sprints and within 2 minutes he was shi$$ing through the phone and I was getting an ear full. I kept trying to calm the poor bastard down and get a word in edgewise but all he could do was feel he was beening attacked.

These days when I see him I think about pulling that condom a little further down over his head so I feel atleast somewhat protected.

I am posting under my boss name, but my name is Daniel Burns(DB)#55, I have raced 8 years at lawton and took this year off and could see the track as a whole is going under. I was asked to race my boss's car and so I did and was stuck off turn 4 and no caution had come out then saw one of my best friends catch fire down front straightaway and come to a stop off of turn 1 and no caution had been thrown. I sat in the car still strapped in and watch the entire mini stock feature and watched the flagman stare right at the fire and not throw a caution and then after jeff foster had got out of his car while it was on fire then the director of competition or whosoever you want to call him says driver of 25 car get out of your car its on fire- hell the damn thing was on fire the whole lap and no caution was thrown and plus he was already out of the car.Problem is Lawton has no safety in mind at all, there will be no cars sooner or later trust me. I will never race there again and the same goes for my boss. Btw as for the dang cheap radio receivers that you have to replace a battery every 2 weeks they suck, if I was leading a race and was battling to win and hear someone come on the radio and say "hey 25 your car is on fire" and he is my friend i believe that is where my concern would turn to so the radios not a good thing. And on the Sellers BLACK FLAG issue it was cheap, for one the 10k lost it on top of turn 1 and as he was coming down in front of the 24 the speed demon Sellars cont....

Sellars was passing both cars on the high side and barely touched the 10K if Sellars had he it the brake the so called wreck would have been worse then what it was. Like I said before don't knock the guys that come out there and win each night because they got there somehow by earning it, not it given to them. Go Sellars and Lonnie keep doing what your doing because they can't keep up with the competition. And one more thing as for the mini stocks since i am a rep for the class why is everyone crying because they can't catch Lonnie, Lonnie is legal and has hit the right combo for the track, and for the other thing Sellars legal in all aspects to he has hit the right combo for the track, if I was still racing I would be trying to talk to these two drivers and ask them for some advice. Thankyou and HAVE A NICE DAY. #55 mini stock DB

LOL...I was waiting to see who would say something about him having a stroke LOL....congratulations you win!!!

I know it's impossible. He does need to mellow and listen to what the guys are saying instead of thinking he's being attacked.

I got the same crap when I tried to talk to the "Director of Competition" a few weeks agoe about the #68 Mod passing 6 cars before the cone. I spoke with Donnie Hanson (civillaly) about the results, and got talked to like a "red headed stepchild" about even noticing the the scoring people missed the fact that he started passing cars on a re-start on the back straight. I was told that "he thought I was seeing things"! Lawton and the Officiating SUCKS!!!!! I am left with ZERO respect for the ability to protest or even voice concerns with officiating with the Officials at Lawton.

In the future, I will just dis-respect them as I was dis-respected when trying to talk to them on that night!

well i have never been to lawton and i have been kicked out of sfs for voicing my opinions on here and so i give just a small warning of what you say. But it seems like all of you have the same exact problem just diffrent race days. why hasnt the race community as a whole done something about it. Lanny may win one on one but how will he do in front of about 200 race car drivers, fans, and crew. You guys have the power to change the couse of any track. Regardless how awefull you think lanny is all you have to do is hit the right note. So with that said i hope everything gets resolved and just remember to have fun if you can. see yall

there are promoters who cars and promoters who don't.

As I've said before Lanny don't care because when it quits being profitable he'll just live off the Chili Bowl. It's weird how everything is in its own right connected. Because of that "New Years Money" he is able to run 3 great tracks in the ground and it not really matter. I say if he continues on the path he's been on for a while I'm gonna hassle the hell out of the Knoxville SCHoF about pullin his name. If he doesn;t pull his head literally out of his ass........he'll have ruined a great deal of the racing in Oklahoma and Texas. I mean C;mon.........get it done man! I know it can't be easy.......but it would be nice to see just a little effort into appreciating those who you bank off of.

As far as good promoters. No matter what you think of him as a driver...........Mark Brill has done a simply amazing job with Meeker. Look at where that was last year and now his shows have surpassed Lawton in quality and treatment. Im sure there are problems there just as with any track.......but they are not problems that will ruin the track like Lanny's tracks. Is he tryin to make a buck? sure! but if he is bettering the racing in this state and this area he deserves to. Also I think Enid's promoters are good ones.......but don't know a whole lot about em. Just know that is the best stock car racing show in state (aside from WSS). West Siloam........now they must be doin somthin right. I think OCRS officials are some of the best in the state. But all of these promoters have the concept down of if you want to put on a good show.........you have to be a good promoter. You have to have ALL involved - fans, drivers, officials, you need the vast majority of these people to be happy with what you have put together and more importantly - HOW YOU TREAT THEM. Because then when drivers and fans develop discontent with the track they attend they look over and see the good track you've put together. Unlike Lanny Edwards.....these promoters are tryin and bustin their ass.  It's all only gonna be as good as you make it. Lanny at SFS literally inherited something that because of the all the drivers and fans was already good. He made a pretty penny off of Trey Robb racing here last year too. But anyhow these saturday night promoters (outside of Lawton) all deserve a pat on the back for the effort they are puttin forth.

With that said...........I can't wait for the OCRS show at OSP in Ada. And also the ascs sprint show at Cowtown. good promoters...............

Here's my 2 pennies on this deal.......................

I've ony raced Lawton once, we threw a rod that night and haven't been back except to watch. We're planning on going Saturday Night to get a little more seat time, being a rookie driver and all. LOL

Anyways, I read ALOT of the time here on the ole Tidbit Forum about Lanny and his driving the tracks in the ground, racers stating they won't come back there to race. When are they gonna stop coming? Since we broke, we ran Ada a few times, but watched at Lawton some too. I haven't seen a decrease in the car counts, so evedentally some drivers are saying they won't be back and either are, or some new guys are coming in their place. I don't know the average car count they have at Lawton, but from what I've seen, it's been near the same all season, so someone is putting up with the crap Lanny's dishing out, if that's the case anyways.

I just see alot of disgruntled drivers/fans stating how much they disapprove of lanny and his 3 tracks, the solution is simple, live your words and quit going to his tracks, then you won't have any complaints.

ok, car count was 71 Saturday 64 week before and on Comanche County night had 56 and the grandstands maybe had 300 people... No B features except for factories... appprently this is a good count but I can remember the last couple of years having well over 100 cars and no place to sit in the stands. Has the sprints or mods even have a b this year? I don't care how much money Lanny has or had... As a business man when something becomes unprofitable, you are forced to make unpopular decisions and I PERSONALLY think that is going to come up in the near future.

What really needs to happen is all drivers need to park on Sheridan Rd. and let the fans know that they will not be racing until there are some changes as they are pulling in the parking lot. My dad said they did this back when he was racing and Lanny came to the road and asked what they wanted and what he needed to do. Races were very good for a few years after that.

I for one am not going back out there until something changes. I ran 5 of the first 7 nights and have not been back since and will not run there next year. I also know of at least 2 other cars that will not come back next year.

This post may get  me a permanent vacation from there but right now I really dont care and actually may be better if it does happen.
