If they are that much someone better jump on this deal on racing junk then has a few nights but hey:
Wesmar 410 : http://www.racingjunk.com/category/429/Sprint_Cars/post/1586910/410-Wesmar-for-sale-Nice-.html
On another note, I have been coming and working on cars @ SFS for almost 10 years and dont believe I have ever seen a track at SFS take rubber. At least not like Enid or Ada does. Did the track really take rubber last week?
|
A couple of things you might notice about that motor. It's 3 years old, 410s are out of date when they are a month old. Also it has 8 races since its been rebuilt, therefore its time for a rebuild. In a 410 you pay for R&D and that motor is older now.
And the track has taken rubber 4 straight weeks for the Supers, top to bottom rubber 2 weeks and along the bottom rubber 2 weeks.

Bobby he is to worried about sweat tea and burritos to worry about tires.

Didn't mean to say modifieds were not expensive. All racing is money. I was just pokin fun. The comment about the tear offs is hilarious.

I dont really know if i believe this a 410 is out of date when its a month old. I dont really think the technology of any engine much less the small block chevy is advancing light years by the minute and all. Sure glad we are making good HP numbers with the same 2 yr old motor turning 8200 and not having to freshen it every 8 nights. But hey im just a dumb engineer who works on a modified.
As for the track, something must have really changed since we quit racing there weekly this year. I for one like dry tracks. Shows who the guys are who are trying to buy their way to the front

naw it's a fine example from the On the Gas School of Thought.......
thats what happens when you drink and type.....lol. Huck you need to give credit where it is due - at least it was fairly positive. BS must be a happy drinker - that or made good use of some zig zags. Kinda like goin from On the Micro Gas to On the Magic Grass......
btw Bobby - I'm completely jokin/makin fun. That was a purdy good redneck lingo post - although no one does em better than Uncle A ;)
How much would could a wouldchuck chuck if a
wouldchuck could chuck would

.....and this is what happens when you mate with okstatehuck's mother..... you get an ignorant arm chair quarterback who thinks he knows everything about racing. You can NOT compare a 410 sprintcar motor to a modified motor! Thats just ignorant! That would be about like me comparing my 600cc micro motor to a midget motor..... Just curious though, how does a slick track show who is "buying there way to the front"????? A slick track takes the horsepower out of the equation and puts more emphasis on driver and setup. Apparently neither Cheese nor myself know anything about the costs of sprintcar racing. Thankyou for your expertise, vast knowledge, and opinion from your infinite years in sprintcar racing. Maybe some day you can bring some of your modified wisdom and show us how to get it done. Until then, pull your mullet back out of your eyes, get your mallet, and keep beatin those fenders back out!
PS- At least Cheese got a good laugh out of my humerous post earlier.

Wow, somebody just asks a simple questions about predicted car count and we can't even have a decent conversation about it.

Its pretty easy to compare the two, they are both based on the small block Chevy push rod engine designed back in the 50's. They both have the same design when it comes to the rotating assembly, they both have 8 cylinders. Yeah they are making a little more power, but not to the extent to have to tear them down every 8 nights. And they certainly are not obsolete after a month! Hell the touring guys are on the road for more than a month at a time! But you are right in one area that you cant compare the Briggs and Stratton out of your mini to the ford 4 cylinder in a midget.
What don't you understand about a dry track will show who has been buying there way to the front? You even reiterated my point in your own post. Ill try to explain it to ya. Its like putting you in Garry Wright's car when the track is heavy. Sure you will probably be fast because that is a nice car with a good motor, now when it goes dry you probably will not be up front where Garry Wright would be.
I have said my peace as far as this subject goes, but if you ever get tired of racing at the little kid track feel free to come out to one of the NCRA modified races and I would love to impart some of my wisdom unto you!

Technical question here, for future referance----
I'm dating my step-cousin(didn't grow up with her), does this count as a bonus or a minus?
Should I move to the river to find acceptance? Just wanted to know. LOL

Ha ! I got you all beat in the cousin dept.
My ex-wife's grandmother was my aunt's sister-in-law. See if you smart alecs can figure this one out.
Oh, just so it's been said. When we ran 410's over at Tulsa, we ran all season without a freshen-up. Not trying to step on anyones toes or throw em under the bus but it had to be said. Sorry cheese and BS.
I also like to see the track go slick and don't mind when it takes rubber either. Not much of a fan of tacky all night long tracks.
