Anyone else out there think the nose on Darland's car (2B) last night is hideous? I'm sure there is some aero theory involved, but it is ugly.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe an entrant can take a provisional for the 'a' main, but not receive points for the Oval Nationals. They are only able to receive points for their respective series; USAC National or USAC/CRA.

I was told at practice that it is a "split bar" configuration on the front end. They appear to be wrestling with the set up but every time out it looks better/more comfortable on the track.

It does look odd.

From another thread on hoseheads regarding that type of car: http://www.hoseheadforums.com/forum.cfm?ThreadID=35236

16"or 18" torsion bars on all 4 corners. There are no torsion stops on the front. Lee tunes ride heights by changing bars AND arms depending on where the spline is clocked on the bars... high maintenance. The shorter bars are quicker, yet they use nitrogen shocks which supposedly slow things down. They also added another upright on the LF corner & a double front bumper (as did Cody Darrah) to make it more rigid up front. Cool to see someone make something "different" work.
