I see that in Blaneys interview after the race that he credited his car owner, George Fischer, for building him a new chassis this past week. I also see that on the front page of Hoseheads that the Maxim add has Blaney in it from his win at KC.

Is the frame a Maxim, or did Maxim just not know that the car wasn't theirs? Just wondering if anyone knows.

Also, I saw that Hodnett was said to have the new "U Max" at his win at the grove. Anyone know what this car is. Can't find anything on Maxims site on this.

As far as I know, George has run Maxims all this year-and that appeared to be the typical hood that I have seen on everyone else's Maxims on Saturday. I know last year they had a Schnee, but I don't think they had any of those this year. Maybe someone else has some better info than me...

Blaney has been in a Maxim all year. He trashed his last Maxim at Eldora with the Outlaws. George had put another car together to finish out the year. As far as the new U MAX, call Brad at Maxim, he can give you the details, it's just a little bit different than the standard Maxim.

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't the only difference between a KPC and a Maxim tube wall thickness?

Aren't most of the "Modern" cars today the same? I mean, measure the pick up points, they may put a tube here instead of there, but I think it's whatever the driver is comfortable with.

Hodnett's car is a I-Max (or U-Max?) meaning it has 16"or 18" torsion bars on all 4 corners. There are no torsion stops on the front. Lee tunes ride heights by changing bars AND arms depending on where the spline is clocked on the bars... high maintenance. The shorter bars are quicker, yet they use nitrogen shocks which supposedly slow things down. They also added another upright on the LF corner & a double front bumper (as did Cody Darrah) to make it more rigid up front. Cool to see someone make something "different" work.

Mark & Karl Kinser tried an I-Max style in the past. Scott Benic tried an experimental wingless version a few weeks ago at a local Gas City, Indiana race on 9/11/09 with Dave Darland driving, without a sway bar.

I beleive Dale stated that Mr. Fisher built him a new "car" to race, not a new "chassis" in his interview. I may be wrong, but that is how I interperted the what he said.

Id have to agee with the above stated, I personally looked over Hods car in Knox Nats pretty close and seen some areas just a tish different , Im guessing the LF shock mount would just help "anybody" basically , not purchasing, yet another length shock for higher speed tracks (just observation here , im no expert) the rear I noticed the bars could be retrofitted back to a 30"/29" ( I didnt want to be pushy/rude with a tape measure LOL) bar or split bar ( it looked like a pain in the A$$ to set stops under the tail tank) surprisingly, Mods have been doing this for years making a Unimount car that is , Im under the impression, although not seeming major by glance, the driver/team can pick and choose thier adjustability to the drivers taste/track conditions , this is proubly for somebody that knows thier Sh#t, likes to keep competitors guessing, or just plain ,cant tinker enuff!, needless to say, pretty neat alterations , without a doubt ,one of the most impressive cars I looked over this past season ,noted, it was the only one I noticed with a fiber seat, $$$ , im sure there was no expence spared , anybody know if ther is a degree change on these cars? proubly just another option ?

Half bars and gas shocks both "react quicker". More importantly however they allow you to spend more money...lol. Half bars live half as long as 30" bars and they have to be made out of titanium to be competitive. Gas shocks cost $500 a piece instead of $100 and get crashed off just as quick.

Lord, I apologize.
