If you could re-open a defunct former race track in the United State, what track would you try to reopen, why, and what classes would you run?

Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, ND as a half-mile. I loved that big track. Awesome speed and excitement. Of course, sprint cars, but I enjoyed the late models and mods up there. Everything was fast at RRVS.

Ascot. I don't think anything has been done with the land the track was on.

Baylands in Fremont, Ca. I was a little kid, and that was the big times to me. It was especially nice when they ran drag races the same night because we could turn around in the back row of the stands and watch those in between races.

Joe Shaheen's Little Springfield. Drove down from Canada for a WoO race in the early to mid '80s. Found out at the ticket booth that they were sold out. We explained that we had driven 986 miles to see the race. There was some discussion in the ticket booth and they finally informed us that a box seat ticket holder had cancelled, so they sold us tickets for that spot. Of course it was right in front of the grandstand right behind the straight away fence. We had to hold our seat cushions in front of our face during hot laps. It was great racing that night and an experience that I'll never forget. I don't believe they ran any other classes, but I think a sprint car ended up in the K-Mart parking lot.

The Indiana State Fairground dirt mile. Improve the racing surface from what is even before they killed it. Bring back the USAC Silver Crown series the weekend of the 500

I still can remember watching AJ Foyt showing up there and practically flatfooting that yellow Corvette around for a couple laps.

The original Jackson Speedway 1/2 with tight turn 1/2 and the covered grandstands and VFW carmel corn.

Little Springfield, my favorite all time track. I attended every race there in 1967 and 1968. The term, "Backing it In" must have originated from there, especially going into the first turn. Boom Boom, Stormin Norman, Gentleman Jim, some of the nicknames from there. And others, I don't remember.

Langhorne Pa. A one mile circle. That place definitely separated the men from the boys. When it was dirt one of the turns was named "Puke Hollow".

One of the turns in a circle would be the entire track. No?

It wasn't a perfect circle it had sort of short straight aways but the drivers said you were always turning left and was very demanding.
