The racing last night was pretty darn good. I really enjoyed Saldana in the KCP pole or dash or whatever you want to call it challenge. Seems like the fans did too.

The Aussie annoucer.... Keep Him! Can we have him back next year if not all year. I really enjoy his sense of humor and what he added to the program last night

Shane Stewart was fast and caught the front two out of no where in the A. I'd say look out Donny but we say this every year as Donny never seems to miss a beat.

The format. Ehh I don't know if they needed to split the two groups or not but that was fine. The real question I have is how does Mark Dobmier start 12th in his heat get 5th but still have to go to the C? It was just a little confusing and hard to follow.

As far as why Dobmeier was in the C main, if you didn't get in the top three in your heat then you go back to where you qualified.  Dobmeier qualified bad, last 10 or so, therefore, he went to the C main.  My opinion is there is too much emphasis on qualifying.  I feel they should use a passing points system, after all you should be racing other drivers, not a clock.

Thanks for the answer. I just thought Dobs nice run in the heat should have been rewarded with something more than the C main. Like you said maybe a little too much emphasis on qualifying. Its a part of the program so I'll take it. It sucks for guys like Mark who are by far more of a racer than a timer!

I know that this format has been in place for a long time in Sprint Car racing, but there seems to be something kind of unfair about it.  For example (posse example and I am not a fan of either driver).  Hodnett time trialed 3rd in his group, but failed to qualify in his heat.  Actually was in a qualified spot and got passed by McMahon and had to go through the B-Main.  Dietrich qualified 10th in his group, and ran away with his heat (did start on the pole, but nobody was even close), yet in the A Hodnett started 9th and Dietrich 17th.  I don't mind reverting to times, but I think there should be some penalty for not qualifying through your heat race.

Yes I was not a fan of the rule change over this offseason of getting ur time spot back up to 9th position. They would argue he was penalized by not getting in the top 4 rows or the challange last night but I think more urgency in the heats would be evident if these guys just had to tag the tail.

On a side note. Please don't allow trailers in the infield next year with (80) 410s please. Turn three was extremely hard to see even from row 25.

Everyone cant sit higher. I do not like to have to look through the I beams and feeling the speed of the cars go down the higher or farther from the track you get. Just was a thought for the fans. Thanks.

Pretty darn good, what?  6 Heat races won from the front row and the only real mover in 80 cars was Dobmeier who just stepped on it in qualifying and is a quality car.  Two B-Mains where the transfer cars started where, on the front row of course and little passing behind them.  The C had a winner come all the way from third, meh.  The A was mostly boring until the last 5 laps when Shane was a machine and he showed his usual Knoxville prowess, definitely a contender this week.  A great job by the Cushion with only a couple of Buffering slips but an overall disappointing night to this viewer and a few others I have spoken with.....

I wasn't able to watch, how did it go having 40 cars on the track, trying to qualify simultaneously? Seems kind of crazy to me. I like group qualifying, but not with 40 cars!

Drawing with passing points with that field would have to of been a much better show. I know- i need to buy a track bla ba blabla. Timing them (which I like to watch ) sucks.  I would of parked if i wasn't in the first 3 rows of a heat-no chance really.

No I am not, they said they split the 80 cars in to 2 groups for qualifying. I was not able to watch or listen. Please enlighten me.

Here's a hint, going to an event live, you can watch action that the camera doesn't show. Racing was awesome, event had a special atmosphere that clearly you missed.

They ran 2 at a time. Split the 80 into 2 groups of 40 for purposes of heat lineups like the Outlaws do.

Wade Aunger is the announcer. All due respect to everyone plying their trades here in the states, but damn, the Aussies have sprint car race announcing nailed. Here, we have over the top 14 sponsor long intros for each car in a heat race, the guys who tell you what's happening at every single second of the race so as to bombard you with too much info, the ones who fall asleep at the mic, the ones who have no business on the microphone at all, the ones who annoy you to no end with catch phrases and look at me grandstanding. This is no disrespect to anyone here in the states, but Wade Aunger and Gavin White are the two best announcers in the world. Watch the Grand Annual Sprint Car Classic on The Cushion, and get back to me. If I can capture even a 1/10th of their magic during one of my calls, I'll be in great company.

Hey 1600, the few people I spoke with that were there were the ones that brought it up first, guess you'd get excited at a go-kart race and I've seen more sprint car races than you could ever imagine, lol....Oh and the awesome you refer to must have also been in your imagination because the results don't show it, remind me to borrow your rose colored glasses sometime....

Those of you complaining clearly weren't there.  The atmosphere was great, anouncer was great, dual race or whatever you want to call it was really cool.  Overall a great night of racing.  Front strecth was pretty full.  There was plenty of action on the track.  I think most of you complainers on here would be unhappy with a free lunch at a resturant of your choice!  If you hate it so much, don't go.  Here's to another great week of racing!
