Hey 1600, the few people I spoke with that were there were the ones that brought it up first, guess you'd get excited at a go-kart race and I've seen more sprint car races than you could ever imagine, lol....Oh and the awesome you refer to must have also been in your imagination because the results don't show it, remind me to borrow your rose colored glasses sometime....

MSPN, Further proof that you are the greatest Sprintcar fan of all time, you dont even need to be at the race and you know if its a good race or a bad one, simply incredible. To all other posters on this board, Do not try to "out fan" MSPN, he knows more, has seen more races, and sniffed more seats than anyone.....ever....... he is MSPN, dont forget it.

I watched on The Cushion and then I looked at the results which simply confirmed my thoughts, the rest of you are either clueless or jealous and likely both.  I pointed out the total lack of passing up front and for the most part anywhere for all the races except the A and then only the first half dozen were involved.  Having said that, Danny started 2nd and finished there, Kerry lost two spots, Sammy one and Paul moved up two and Joey lost two.  Shane passed 5 cars, the 2nd most as Veal passed 6.  The B's had the front row transfer in both their races with NO passing.  You guys need to see a good race once in a while to find out what passing is all about, I would say try wingless but that would blow your minds too much...

I too, agree...... WAY to much emphasis on the almighty Knoxville time trial (does anybody else TT weekly?).........and 8 lap heats races w/ 10-12 cars on a narrow racetrack....really?...... miss a transfer by a spot after starting last and relegated to almost last in the B becasue of drawing a late TT number.......and inverting only the top 4 insures the "names" Have a better shot at making it in (ie: Henderson not making the transfer in the heat Friday night after starting 6th).......Dobs just got caught up in the system......whatever happened to "racing" and passing other competitors, not running againt the clock and track conditions........last night,  cars with faster times in the second group didn't make it into heats, but cars with slower times in the first group did....??????   whatever happened to the fastest 72  (and why not the other 8?)......it's not like they don't have plenty of time to kill and couldn't run 8 ten car heats........I love the special events over there, but found the "racing" quite boring until the later mains.......FWIW

Ford about the cheapest worst car made, 97 obsiously your IQ, have I got your attention now dummy?  I have renewed my Passport which I let slip by 3 days, you happy now.  You live somewhere near Knoxville and you know Terry WOW that makes you a big timer in the sprint car world, lol.  I've soaked up that atmosphere there lots over the years and made a whole lot of money doing so, don't you wish you could say the same?  I'll let you go now, you have lots of other stupid things to say in a few other places in this forum, are you sure you're not originally from PA?

PS  You can watch lousy races from the stands all you want, I did that enough chasing the Outlaws around for a dozen years.  I would have thought even somebody as clueless as you would know that a weekly show is more than often more entertaining than a travelling show, but I was giving you too much credit, you don't know the difference, getting drunk is probably your top priority...

MSPN may just have a good memory. I remember the weeks at Knoxville leading up to the Nationals in the time frame of say 1973-1980.

Usually the week end before the Nationals, Knoxville had many good Pennsylvania cars, many good California Racing Association Cars, some USAC stars plus other good drivers from all over.  Along with the Knoxville regulars and some cars that raced around Mo, Okla, KS, Ne area but only came to Knoxville during the weeks prior to/and the Nationals. Big car counts.

I've seen many sprint car races winged and wingless. I still attend many races but Nothing, absolutely nothing compared to those events at Knoxville at that time period in my book.

LOL, cancer and a lousy heart passed along in a family with lousy hearts is not quite 'drank themselves into poor health', you sure are full of shit and tales, I must have hit home with the truth somewhere for you to make up things again.  It ain't bragging if you did it dummy, try being productive at something and then you might have a little pride, do it in the public and you'll have more.  I can honestly say I wish I would have partied a bit more over the years since I worked weekends for almost twenty years and travelled during the week for about a dozen of 'em but hey you know the story right?  The decade I owned a bar/restaurant I worked most weekends too and never was much of a weeknight drinker but why tell you, it's just going to make you more jealous.....I talk about my life coz' I lived a good one, been very lucky, sadly you can't say the same, I understand, nothing wrong with a guy that's used to saying 'would you like fries with that', really...

The "few" people you talked to, haha. Try again sir, I know you've been to more than a few races in your day, and that's why actually being there, I'm pretty sure you'd have enjoyed yourself.

Enjoying oneself is much different than a race being entertaining, you have to know that.  It's like last Saturday's 360 final, meh....Now get over to Osky and either flag or jump in the pace truck....

You're not gonna see a whole lot of passing these days with the cars as equal as they are, especially on a 1/2 mile track and especially with the stout field of cars that are at Knoxville this week. However that doesn't mean there isn't great racing going on. It just means you don't just drive by too many cars anymore, you have to work for it these days.

I was there last night and had a GREAT time! $20 for 80 410's!?!?! I challenge ANYONE to find more bang for their buck! Did it break the world's record for passing in a sprint car show? Nope. Did this fact ruin the show, atmosphere, or fun? Nope. Was it a mass of depressed sprint car fans bitching all the way out of the grandstands? Nope. Good enough for this guy! I guess maybe my standards aren't as high as some others...Whose loss is that?

I laughed my ass off at that one too larryitis!   Can't wait for Friday to get here!  Heading out late morning and should be there by 3:00 or 3:30.  I will be in touch when we get there and we can hook up for a beer-maybe a trip to the Dingus.

As far as everyone complaining about the racing--The worst race I ever attended, was still better than the best day I ever had at work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome, I need to come check out the campgrounds if that's where you are staying...  I've never actually been there. For this year I am staying at a hotel in Osky with a buddy.

MSPN is my friend, many great conversations with him at races all over the place. Great business man and a survivor on the road for years, few could do that. I love the fact he's not politically correct and calls it as he sees it. I certainly hope the world of racing doesn't become as pus sifted as the world of politics. I was at Knoxville last night, and the racing was less than stellar, I've been going to the Nationals since 1991 and haven't missed a year. Love the place, the whole week and am typing this from Osky where the heats and Bmain were just as boring. Hopefully the Amain is more exciting. The Capitani Amain was a snoozer until the final few laps.

I'd love to hang out with my friend Nelligan anytime at a racetrack, never a dull night, great stories and lots of laughs.

I doubt you will have any competition trying to get between you and MSPN, he's all yours, you can hang with that bag o' wind all you want.  You should get a t shirt made that says "Im with worlds greatest dirt track fan, just ask him"  Enjoy the races with your pal.

Me Stagger,

i dont pick pick my friends based on popularity contests or opinions of others. I've watched Mike from a distance deal with others and up close, I've never seen anything dishonest or that would suggrst poor character, that's important to me. He's a fun guy to stand next to in the pits with a camera and battery pack strapped to your hip all night. I was the track photo at the Big E until Mr Baltes sold the place, and my business was taking off and doing well, so I hung up the camera and just became a fan again. I admired his ability to make a living traversing the country and dealing with so many different people in doing so.

if you dislike his opinions, so be it, but I will say he was for years one of the most informed race fans in the nation, and I know he's seen enough racing to speak to what is a quality show and what's not. I sincerely hope for great racing this week, but will say that the Capitani was a bit disappointing as was Osky.  I love this week and all that comes with it, grest racing is a bonus.

Regarding MSPN, I'll always have a buddy's back. I'm I'm section H, row 33, seat 31, im always open to a new friend at the races, stop around a say hello, I'll be wearing a Tommy Bahama shirt, imagine that.
