The car on the left was built for the 1967 season, and was raced until around 1977. This
car was driven by Dale Reed, Davey Ross, Jon Backlund, Jerry Stone, and Jim Harkness
among others. This car won races in IMCA, BCRA, and CRA. One of its most impressive
wins came 1967 when Dale Reed won a CRA race at El Centro, California. This car won
its last major race in 1974 with Jerry Stone behind the wheel at Belleville. It was Jerry's first
win in a sprint car.
The car on the right (41) is the car Grady Wade won the BCRA title with in 1965, when it was raced
with the #43 number. Dick Bloom would later drive this car when it ran with the number #44.
Both of these cars have been restored I believe by Dwane Wolfe.
Pete Forshee, and Grady Wade have told me the earlier roadster looking car was designed
off of the Pete Forshee #3.

I did restore the car on the right, that is Dick Bloom he bought the car from Puis. The car on the left is the second year of the car Puis and Bill Johnson restored it back to first year colors.

Tom Burns painted the car every year, Puis never did know what he was going to get as far as paint scheme.

DW,
Hopefully somebody will post one of the pictures were this car had one of those wild paint
schemes, with trees and such in the back ground. It looked like a mural on wheels.

Harold won a BCRA race at Belleville in this car before Hutch in 1966. I believe it was his first time
in the car.

DW,
I'm so glad you could bring the car to Lincoln for Grady's induction into the BCRA Hall of Fame.
You might remember we took a picture with Grady and his family around the car. He told some
great stories about racing this car in 1964-65, and also when he drove the Pete Forshee #3.

DW,
I remember when we were looking over your handy work at Lincoln, everyone was very
impressed with the job you did. I also remember that the car was one of the wider sprint
cars I had ever seen. This car is unique to me, its like a cross between the Mechanical Rabbits,
and a regular sprint car.
