Just seeing if this thing is sellable, been in storage for quite a few years, we ran it a couple of times in the 90's for fun. I can get pics of it.

I'll talk to my dad and see how he wants to sell it. Right now its got a 327 with the small injection on it, the motor is my brothers.
Car orginally came out of Great Falls MT, now located here in Williston ND

Here's a couple more pics of it, the storage building has poor lighting in it.

A 1980 Nance, I'm guessing the private messages are at 30 with 62 views. A altogether Nance and a 1980. It is vintage already but just think in 20 years. It will be like the cars we love now.

Do you have the chassis number? (on the top bar in the firewall area) I've been starting to keep a log of where all the cars have ended up. Nothing official but I think it would be worth having.

Scotty--
With chassis number, are you able to know who the orginal owner was? Just curious

I can't at this time, yet. That is my ultimate goal down the road since I only have a handfull of numbers so far. My plan is to talk somebody (Dennis Dye are you listening? LOL) into approaching Mrs. Nance to see if she would allow them to copy the original records. We may only get one chance and several years from now we'll wish we would have tried. I realize that also some current owners, and maybe some past ones, don't wish for others to know what they have or bought years ago, so we have to abide by their wishes if they want to remain annonymous. Anyone with any ideas feel free to jump in!

I am under the impression Nance changed his cage design in 1980. He may have been doing either style in 1980, but the rear of this cage looks like a 1979 or earlier. In fact my guess would be 1977 with the way the rear cage braces tie into the lower tubing and the vinyl piece covering the fuel opening on the fiberglass tail cover .
It may be more collectable than it looks.

We had a 1980 Nance here this past weekend, 100" car. Bill Cundiff brought it in. The cage is the same as the Nances up through 1984. Borrowed this from Dan Carleson

The hood is copied from the 1985-1988 cars

If it's considerably older than 1980, it may not have a serial number on it. Seems to me we came into that understanding after looking into the Nance serial numbers before.
I do know that Cundiffs car above has a serial number from about mid 1980. That's the oldest I personally know of, but that doesn't say much.

Thanks all for your resources, they are interesting!
Not sure how to tell what years this things is, dad says its a 80 nance bought from an individual out of Montana back in the 90's. Car may have well been updated in 80 with the new body parts, I don't know. If someone can shed some light on that would be helpful.
Met my dad at lunch today, he's 71 and still working as a welder. Unfortunately, the price may be steep...says he wants $5,000 with out motor.
BTW, it has power sterring in it, but he has the orginal schroeder steering that was in it, but he's claiming doesn't have the pitman arm for it.

Got some more interesting tibits from my dad
Guess the car came out of Havre MT, the guy special ordered the chassis from Nance as the guy was a bit big, so the cockpit is little wider and taller. My dad put the bar in on the left side as he felt there was too much of an opening there and put it in more for safety. So the car is Nance built. Still has the orginal push bar in the rear with the nance emblem stamped in it. Wheel pressure plates all have nance name on them. We believe the wing is also orginal as it has the adjustable wicker bill!! Hoping to get this thing outside the building so I can take better pictures of it.
On a side note, my dad built his own ford powrered sprinter back in 72-73 with blueprints he obtained from Nance at the time, I'll try and find the pictures scan them and put them up.

i asked mrs.nance a while back if there were owner records available, there are none. the serial ization of frames started in or around 1980, so any thing built prior to then won't have s/n's. the pictured, if it is a nance was pre 1980 due to roll cage construction, also is was before newer fuel tanks were used becauseit looks like a bladder type tank. the wing on the car was added years after the 70's... so the questions go on and on on this one !!!!!!!!!!! o,, and also the hood definately is from after to 70's. looke like someone has modified an older chssis with newer components... note thesteel torsion arm, it's rusted, probably not a nance arm..... wicker bill wings were a feature from probably later in 1980's....
