The 11 car was the nance house car, proably Harold Leep or Roy Bryant, the 1 is pete York in the Del Torrance car, behind him is the Cates deuce with Al Lemons The 54 behind the 52 Is Bill Lewis out of OKC.The Don Schonfield coupe is in the back. Tim Belk could probaly do a lot more of the cars The 52 Zink car with Buddy Cagle is on the pole.

Ray you are pretty close on them but the car behind #1 Pete York is Jack Belk in the 05 car.I can see Bill Sanders #25 in the middle afew rows back.I am not were i can get to my records,,...Come on you got to have the pic from the other side...That may be the Cox #33 car 4 or 5 cars back on the outside behind York #1 and Belk #05..Maybe that is Emmitt Hahn..I cant put an ID on the car that is behind the #52 in the pic on the inside it looks Turcoise color,,maybe it is Shaddox #17..I am stumped.I was thinking Frankie Lies won that race but i dont see his car unless it it the one behind the car that is on the inside of the #52.we need the pic from the other side if they got one
I like the Cagle car on the body under his arm you can see the Feather win stickers.
Win as if you are use to it.And lose as if you enjoyed
it for a change. Its hard to get to the top and alot
harder to stay there.

I am looking at the 1974 Ncra yearbook and they have the top 5 from the 1968 race
1 Frankie Lie, 2 Buddy Cagle, 3 Al lemons, 4 Chick Shaddox, 5 Pete York Frankie had fast time
Tim who owned the 05 car your father drove and did thy race at Tulsa in 1968? do you know who drove the Nance car that Day? i keep looking at that picture, did they start 3 rows? You can see Frankie's car inside the Zink car and Bill Lewis in the 54.

I was thinking Lies won that race that might be the car behind the car that is inside #52..I dont remember who was driving the #11..They started 2 wide but they did the flag intros and had them setting 3 wide to do that..As you can see the front row was not lined up to good setting there..
Jay Carnes out of Neosho Mo owned that #05 car,it was his first Supermod..Dad ran 3/4 of the year at Tulsa that year..He won 1 A Feather at Tulsa that year..But he was leeding the A main 7 or 8 times that year and blow a head gasket at Tulsa everytime but one time,,, it would blow within 5 laps of the finish..He was starting towards the front becuase they kept blowing head gaskets and his point average sucked so it kept him at the front in the starting lineup.. They were running a small block ford. They finally went to a chevy that Al Weiland built to finish the year the last 4 or 5 weeks....They had ran the same Ford motor at Joplin in 67 in a Sedan and won the Championship..But when they went to Tulsa in the Supermods with it in the lighter cars and Tulsa was a wide open flat on ther floor higher RPM track they could not keep head gaskets in it..Jay blamed the fuel not being consistant...

I see Pat Patterson in the wedge #6
Joe Cox #33 -most likely Emmitt Hahn
Is that Ron Fowler in the 'Sooner Motel' car? Or maybe Chick Shaddox?

That is Chick Shaddox in the Sooner motel car #17,,,#73 is Gene Paddox and beside the #73 i think it might be #12 Bill Thorton.

I thought I had seen a picture of Aaron Madden in the Nance house car (#11) somewhere...maybe on the old RFTP site? Could that be Aaron?

The coupe in front of the light colored sedan towards the back of the outside row looks like it might be Bill Bookout #50 from Enid.

Tim did your father race at the 100 lap special race at Tulsa in 1968 won by Buddy Cagle? That was the first race that i ever went to. Pete York in the Del Torrance 1 had his driver side header torn off and keep running, you could see the cylinders firing out of the head. I remember that like it was yesterday.

Is it funny how we can remember stuff all the way back to 3rd or 4th grade but can' remember what the wife said last week, LOL. I can't remember my Kindergarten or 3rd grade teachers name but I can the rest.

No i dont think he did,,they were having so much Head gasket trouble at Tulsa that year that they didnt go.They were having enough trouble trying to get it to finsh 25 laps let along a 100 laper..I dont think i went to that race ether...
But i do remember the top of that Ford motor apart as much as it was together........The guy that owned that car Jay Carnes was a real good race car guy dad and him and my brother Randy won alot of races with him...,,,But he had a timper......My brother Randy was driving a Late Model for him in the 70s they did well ..But one night Jay could not get his Big block Mopar to run right he worked on the Carb all night and finally he locked the Throttle wide open and jumped on the front of the car and put a slide hammer and put it right in the middle of the carb at about 7000 or 8000 Rpms..Now that was something to see that motor did some things that was pretty wild before it died.It got fast then slowed down and was chomping all all the stuff that was going into it....But Jay said fixed that i dont got to mess with it anymore.....The next week the car ran great.

Are there any pictures of the last race at the old Tulsa track a NCRA race in Octobrer 1973 that was won by James Eubanks in the Joe Cox 33? There are a lot of us old fans here that would love to see some of this race.
