This is the sprinter Del "Smitty" Schmidt of Topeka, KS drove. No date was given, but I'm assuming late 60's very early 70's. Notice the bolt on roll cage.
Back then the IMCA did not allow roll cages. Yes up until 1969 after Kenny Gritz was killed at an IMCA race in Lincoln, NE IMCA didn't allow roll cages. So the cages were bolted on so they could be taken off for different races.

This is the Gary Hannah owned car probably 72 or 73 because of the provisions on the cage for a wing.

Correct Curt.
Gary Hanna built this car and ran it for only 1-2 yrs before selling it to "Smitty".
I'll dig throught some pics and see if I pin-point the year. I also not sure thats the original cage.
I know I have some pics.
