Yes, I know there is a 'for sale and trade' section here for things like this, but this someones chance to own one of the good horses from back in the day. When this car rolled out, it was one of the stars of the show.

I am about 100% sure that this is that 1975 not 1976 Enid race I don't mean to be a know it all but there are several reasons that I think that it is 1975. The 76 race was so dusty that you could not have a film this clearl, but the main reason is about 50 seconds into it I see Norman's #17 car with Larry Coleman driving it. That was the last that the 17 ran. In 1976 it had a V8 engine, a different owner and was #80.

Leep is in the #24 Suchy car. That was at the end of 1975, I agree.
Larry Holman finished up the OkC title with the #24 after he had a falling out with Sampson. Benny Taylor was in a coma , and Pat Suchy was willing to help Holman. Since they couldn't get the number 21 from Sampson, they just painted it in the familiar Larry Holman colors of the time, and went with #24.
End of the season, Holman gets the title, and goes on his way. Leep takes over the Suchy ride, waiting for the #76 Bi-Centennial Parson car to be ready for 1976.

The P2 super from what I remember a couple of years back this car was said to have come from southern Iowa. It may have come from southern Iowa but it was raced in the Ohio area. I looked at the sponsors and it actually had sponsors from Ohio. So I figured it came from the Indiana/Ohio line area. At present writting I cannot remember the town in Ohio. I have the photos of the car though and can look them up. The sponsor is still in business and I found it on the internet. There is also the same name of the town in south central Iowa.
So with some research there could be some history for you Ohio/Indiana viewers.

Brian,
The reason for the number P2 if it was Lloyd's personal hang out where him and lots of other friends of his got togeather for good times. it still exists today but has been sold to another owner. It is also known as "The Duece" too, that is why "Duece" is on the hood. P2 is part of the great Pioneer chain of great eating places in Wichita Falls, Texas owned by the McBride family. I'll give my favorite Pioneer on Maplewood a plug. I love the cheese enchiladas. Now I made myself hungry.

McBride steakhouse! Few make steak like they do. Worth the stop.
I'd avoid the "mexican" place next door if you're downtown. Didn't much care for the fajitas. I will not use the word "catmeat", but the wife brought it up a time or two. LOL

No, it was a Jelly chassis. It had been the #13 Suchy car that Benny Taylor won the 1974 OkC title with. Before that it had Nance style body with #13, and before that it had the same body but with the #33.
The car was nearly retired when the basis for the 76 car came along (as the new #13), but Benny crashed that, and the you mention was called back into service but with the #24.
Yea I know all that is kinda crazy sounding, but I got all twisty-fangled over the Suchy cars a few years ago, and found out a few things.

Your thinking of orange #24 sprint tailed owned by Jelly. Jerry Stone and Jay Woodside also drove the #24 owned Jelly.

Notice on the bottom it says D & S Services New Paris. New Paris is across the line from Richmond, IN in Ohio. Dozen of tracks it could have run on in that area. A couple of famous ones, Winchester just to north of Richmond. Eldora just to the north and little east of New Paris.
D & S Services is listed on the internet still. Don't know if it the same D & S though.
I guess the body work could have come from another car also so maybe I'm all wet.

The yellow bodywork is what came with the car.

Jay Woodside was driving the 24 for Jelly in the fall of 1975 but Jelly did not take it to the final Ncra race at Enid. He took the car to run with the sprint cars at the Western World race at Manzanita. That race was real big back then. Jelly told me that he owed a favor and had to take his car ther with USAC sprint champ Larry Dickson driving it. I asked him at his Christmas party that year how they did and he said not very well they had a fuel problem. That left Jay without a ride for Enid, He was going to drive Norman's 117 with Jerry Wilson's V-8 engine in it but Ford V-8 that Norman was going to put in the 71 burnt a piston and he had to put Jerry's engine in the 71. Mike finished 8th after starting 25th

I was informed that unless something should change, if one of these cars should sell, then the other would most likely come off the table.
As for the P2, the only thing I know of that has had trouble was the power steering pump kept throwing a belt or had a leak. Otherwise, I've never seen it even need a push truck.

As for this car, I have the money right now to get it, but the wifey seems to think three cars is enough already!LOL
I have eyeballed this old car for the last 23 years, and have always wanted it when it came around.

Lord I just can't wait to get married, (a certain amount of time, one week, on month, or 10 years goes by after marriage), Lord What I have I done.
It's Just a joke I heard Pastor John Hagee tell on his program today. It's not a quote but real close.
I've been married 20 years in January. I've been to a handful of races in 20 years.

Reminds me of the time years ago when my first wife (my baby mama, hee hee) declared "Its. either me or those damn race cars...............and if it's those damn race cars........(she pointed).....there is the front door!"
I got a hard look when I thought a second and replied "Can you go get me my shoes?"
So much different from my current bride of 207 months and 27 days. She has no great love for the old race cars but she sees how happy and complete it makes her man so she tolerates my obsessive passion. Gotta love her!

Hey Brian my dad did not buy the 21car from Everd Walton until the end of the season in 75. He also bought the Parsons car at the same time. Larry quit driving for us in 76 and Dale finished out the season as we started out the season with only one car. Tobey
