Yeup that's right the Winged Sprint Cars will be in Enid Sunday evening as part of the Salute to Legends!

The last couple of days the drivers got together started ringing my phone and there is not an NCRA 360 race anywhere and so they decided to come to Enid and race on Sunday!

This is getting better every time we put a race on!

Fuel Injected - Winged - ground pounding warriors in Enid!

Oh yah I forgot there is a new driver from Wichita that is a pretty little girl that is going to be in a 360 for the first time on Sunday and word is she is FAST!

Thanks SPRINT CAR DRIVERS!

Seeya Sunday!!!

There is no entry fee - we came up with a per car purse and Kris Miller put this deal together. Kris is in Woodward at the O'Reilly's store if you want to call him. He needs to know how many to expect if possible.

Ed I think you are doing a great thing for Enid. If you want the sprint car deal to go we need to get Chris on here and let everyone know the purse. I've talked to 4 okc guys that want to go today but they're all on the iffy side because they don't know what they'd get for going. If you could pull some ncra guys, some Tulsa guys, and some OKC guys you'd could have upwards of 20 cars. I know Chris pretty well and know that he is a stand up guy I just think that this deal needs to be put out for all to see!

Ed if you could swing 1500.00 to win and 250.00 to start i know you would have over 20 sprinters with some big names to boot one reason is OCRS is in lawton on saturday night and alot of us like 15 of us have ASCS cars too would make a good weekend of racing just load 2 cars in the trailer ;-) Need to get the purse posted and let it ake off like a wild fire........ ASCS is off in this area too could be alot bigger sprint show than alot of people would think........... GOT TO GET THE INFO OUT THERE ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would it be ASCS or NCRA tire rule?

We are not being secretitive it all came about i the last two days and yesterday I said HELL YAH let's do it.

We do not have time to promote a full fledge Sprint Car race and the show is set with a whole bunch of cars already before we got the sprint cars. I want to do this deal right and when I bring Sprint Cars in they will be the show.

This deal is kinda like a invitational show for this Sunday to let Enid race fans and you drivers how cool this track is now.

No huge purse can be throwed together but if everyone wants to come and have some fun without it costing them an arm and a leg Kris Miller came up with the idea.......he has had a bunch of calls today and it looks like we will have 10 or so cars so we can show Enid whatz up with these firebreathers!

This all started with a couple of us just wanting to have some fun and and get some laps to shake down some new cars and new setup ideas but its turned into a bigger turnout. Here is the deal ED was good enough to do for us. He is paying 150 per car. Plus letting the driver and 3 pit guys in free. So thats really like us getting 250 per car anywhere else. All we have to do is show up and put on a show for the fans and hopefully get enough interest in sprint cars in ENID to get something else going later.

Thanks

Kris Miller

That was one of the questions that I had since it is not sanctioned. Larry I know that you run goodyears, Whit runs goodyears, and most of the city guys that possibly would show up run goodyears. So I think that ASCS tire rules would work out the best.

Now, that's how to promote a race, you guys come race and have fun, don't really know what we will be paying but you will have lots of fun and we will pay you something. But it will be fun cause we'll even let you in for free. Prolly be the biggest race of the year. LOL

Is it fair to perceive Enid as our best chance to save regular fuel-injected sprint car racing in Oklahoma?

The best news is that Ed Beckley (me) is a SPRINT CAR FAN........this is most definitely a step in the right direction.
