2 cars into TT and I am shocked at the lack of track prep. How could they blow a live TV show like this? Hopefully this gets fixed but I doubt it.

Also when did Erin Crocker become a hottie?????????

More weight, more regulation, more similarity in the
cars.... that will ensure plenty of thrills for years
to come. Only the most average talent behind the
wheel will be needed with such awesome equipment on
the track!

Qualifying is, I have heard a rumor the late models are there too. That could explain why they have time to show earlier qualifying.

well it is an embarrasment to the sport so far. This is like getting a sales appointment with a big potential customer and having a booger hanging out of your nose

The qualifying is definitely taped - the voice over is live thought I think - either that or Bobby Gerould is a "visionary" as he announced Sides second lap time while Sides was still half a lap from taking the checkers for the lap. Ooops! wink

Apparently they don't have enough true HD cameras ... Erin's pit camera is an SD camera in 16x9 mode.

The camera over the flagstand is SD as well - it looks like crap as well.

It's got the production value of a grocery store training video

Hope they got a discount rate on that "Semi-HD" production truck...

Also the video quality of the promos and commercials they are showing is almost as crappy as the track conditions. NOTE - not the agency produced commercials - just the ones for the other races.

This is at least 90 minutes tape delayed. What happened to live TV? Awful, awful on the biggest weekend in tv motorsports the WoO drops the ball.

According to Bobby Gerould on his hammerdownusa.com website, "The event will be telecast live-to-tape on Speed (with a slight delay early, and possibility of being LIVE by the end of the night). The delay early will allow the on-air presentation to edit out any downtime."

They're doing it like they did the World Finals last year - earlier action is tape delayed and the A Main will be aired live ... or nearly so.
