We lost a true champion in Frankie lies. His most recent competitor was CANCER although he put up a strong battle which had lasted many laps over several years, this time unfortunately he came in second place. I will always remember when i was just 8 or 9 years old when watching him race and he had a straight away lead on the rest of the field, my dad would look at me and ask why are you watching him, the race is back there, referring to the rest of the competitors... in later years I was a crew member on the 12n car and was able to compete against one of the best from the mid-west!!! He will be missed by us here on earth but now he can hot lap with La-Vern, Red Fisher, Chet Wilson, Jay Woodside, Duke Westerhouse and the rest of the racers who have taken the checker flag before him... rest in peace frank!!!!1
