Does anyone know why he didn't compete at Bristol? His car was there but he didn't race...

An answer to an earlier post said he was feeling under the weather.

If his decision was due to the speeds I have no problem with that and respect his decision. A crash at those speeds would be huge and possibly a career ender.

I was surprised to see Jac running Bristol but watching him run I think he only kept it in his comfort zone. Ran in the back and from what I noticed pulled in early alot.

There are reasons Indy Car doesn't run Daytona or Talledega. While it would be crazy fast, the racing would suck and the crashes even worse.

Now that the over hyped Bristol show is in the books we can get back to racing.

Im sure some people, fans and on this board, like hammer down tracks with little passing. Fast top speed etc., but most fans like passing.

Only the Allen team knows for sure.  I do know that they check drivers  and crew for fever.  I know for sure a stock car driver was sent home because he had a fever.  I do not know if he had Covid 19.  I do not think Jacob was scared of track speed, but if he was that is OK.  I have heard of non wing drivers that will not run Salem or Winchester.

I guess if we really need to know we could call their head office and hope to be co nsided worthy of the true answer.

If he wasnt comfortable with the situation and chose to step aside, so be it. I'm not gonna think any less of him. Probably actually have more respect for him for not going wirh the expected response of having to race. Lots of life ahead of him, future family etc etc and if he chooses to be healthy and walking so he can be part of that future family that's ok with me.

He risks his life 90 times a year for us to be entertained. That's more than enough for me.

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

He just didn't feel comfortable, big friggin deal. No loss, equipment saved for the remainder of the season, smart decision.

My brother, Jacob, and I had to drop something off at Sharks engine dyno last year on one of our trips to PA for Kahne. When we left to head for Kahnes engine builder to pick up a few 410s, Jacob Allen asked if we could drop him off back at Shark Racing.  The hour drive back to Hanover was one of the greatest drives of my life.  Jacob Allen is one of the funniest humans on Earth and a great story teller like his dad.  The whole way home to Charlotte, tired as hell, was highlighted by Jake and I quoting Allen's stories laughing our ass off usualling ending in a coughing fit.

I think there is something more to this story. I'm not about to start rumors but something seems wrong with the anwers to the questions but I guess time will tell.

Bobby A. If you read this I sure as hell hope you smile. Usually he would never change his facial expression as if nothing ever took place. Anyone close to him, and that is a tight nit group, totally understands.

This whole topic is what makes human beings such interesting creatures. The fact that certain individuals are so nosey into a situation because they do not know every intimate detail of the situation and they are uncomfortable with not knowing every detail even though not one detail impacts their life in any way. I believe psychologist call this Argument from Ignorance where an individual who has a lack of knowledge or proof of evidence on a subject/proposition will automatically state a proposition is true or false because the opposite has not been proven the opposite to that individual. Basically they form conclusions because they are uncomfortable not knowing something when in reality it does not matter.

Whether Jacob was sick or did not feel comfortable or any other of the 1000 conclusions that can be drawn by people it has 0 impact. When Johnny announced on Friday that Jacob was feeling under the weather I went, "Oh that sucks for him, hopefully it isn't anything major and he feels better," then I went on with my life.

Nobody's looking at the big picture here. It's obvious that Jacob took time off from running Bristol so he could wrap up the details on his upcoming NASCAR cup ride- duh!  wink

Whatever the reason, I'm reasonably sure it had nothing to do with the speed. They said he was feeling under the weather, OK good enough. I'll take their word for it. Happens to everyone. Time to move on to the next race.
