Don't worry with it, when Donny appears with the Ford engine I'm sure Minthess will let everyone know...

I have a theory--they will bring the Ford out for publicity during the month of money.  Maybe at Knoxville Nationals.  They will get alot of write ups.  In any case they will not bring it out till it matches or exceeds chevy on dyno.  It will be interesting.  I am a chevy person but anything  that gives some publicity to sprint cars is good.

I get your post is in jest but it's not now nor has it ever been about Donny "overpowering" anyone. Obviously crew, set up, experience (their notebook), but watch closely to how Donny drives. No one works the middle better and no one keeps things positively going forward at all times. He rarely loses momentum and is rarely out of control in his car. His tires are always "under him" if you will. So it's not about overpowering anyone with more HP or something. Watch him drive the car. That's why he's the best.

He has no Ford under the hood as of now.  And I'm sure there will be a big announcement and they will have tested it and tested it and tested it.  If he can't run at the front or front 3 or 4, he'll be gone from Ford.  I'm sure there is something in his contract that guarantees the new motor will compete and compete well, afterall, it will be a small block Chevy knockoff.

I'm concerned about Ronnie Shaver's health.  Since he's seeing 20 plus second lap times throughout central PA, the 18 hour work days trying to find the 40 horspower advantage his Fords had years ago has got to be taking a toll.  The pressure is on!

Agreed. It's very obvious that most of the people who are obsessed with horsepower have never driven a sprint car. You could have 2000 horsepower and the guy with 500 will beat you every single time if you're spinning the tires and he isn't. To put things into perspective in terms of how slick it gets, the lap times in last years WoO feature at the 3/8 mile track I race at weekly were around 5 seconds off the track record.

My post was sarcasm as i'm aware of Donnys skills as I have been following him since he started racing in my hometmown.

I've only seen one 410 car that obviously had a horsepower advantage over all the Chevy small blocks built by various builders and that is when Mark Kinser drove the Mopar 5m to the title years and years ago.  It was just so obvious that he was faster than everybody else, then the speed advantage disappeared after about 1 1/2 seasons as everyone caught up.   Mark, he was the real deal the year he won the title and a super man with the fans, always smiling. It was really good to see and sad that it didn't last as a true Chrysler fan, especially the Chrysler hemi that has dominated fuel cars in the NHRA for 40+ years.  Maybe we'll see it again in the WoO when Roush/Yates gets finished with their BlueOval/Ford badged engine.  Doubt it in this modern world of engine builders that someone could find an advantage like Kinser had with Dodge.  We will see, sooner than later hopefully, maybe an announcement by national's time but doesn't look like it will be ready then.  I'd guess they are testing but it seems they are very tight-lipped about progress.  Schatzze must be getting a little ansy, and Smoke too.  Ya got Ford on the hood and the wings and the wrong engine under the hood.  An odd situation.

Radios and traction control don't break track records in the mud that stand for 18 years.

The Fords that have a power advantage like the ones that swept the podium last night at Eldora's biggest race and won multiple outlaw titles when Dodge came are outlawed.  Sorry.

first the ford never had a 40HP advantage, if they did ronnie shaver would still be building them and every top team out there would have them. second whats the big deal ? smoke got pissed chevy didn't make him a counter offer or the bowtie would still be at TSR. Roush is not what they were at one time and ford wanted another team. they got it in TSR and there fords are running up front every week or close to it. Roush for whatever reason lost all there A drivers. Money is probably the factor there, just guessing, and it shows in were  the drivers finish every week. Smoke drops in for a 360 show and you can believe that it is a bowtie between the frame rails, and if ford wanted a 410 sprint motor why would clemens not build one. A cam swap and injection would get them going. His motors are making enough HP

You know Bloomquist runs both Andy Durham Fords and Chevys and has won with both this year.....

Don't know what he was running last night?

NASCAR was for American stock cars only, it was mandated, in the rule book, that is until the Toyota's Japanese boardroom showed the France family their pocketbook.

the  Ford Donny will be sporting isn't anything like the fords currently winning late models, nor the Ford sprint motors of years gone by. The new motor Donny will be sporting is all new from the ground up. Ford has cast its own block as well as the heads.
