I find it funny that whenever another "Sammy is a douchbag" comment (there has been plenty) gets posted, the only response is "but he is a very good and has accomplished more than most".
Is that all that matters is winning? Is the fact that he is a douchbag (at least at the racetrack, maybe a nice guy away from work, don't know) just a given anymore and the only thing that matters is his record?

Has Jac Haudenschild not had a Hall of Fame career in the sprint cars? Yet you never hear of his fits of rage like you do with Sammy. Maybe that can show you that one does not need to be a douchebag to be a winner. And, Bigfish, why is it if one points out the stupidity of Sammy thoughout the years, it's whining? BTW, I wouldn't be too proud of the fact of voting for Obama either. He will go down as one of the worst presidents ever.

And at the end of the day, being congenial or not makes absolutely zero difference -- other than giving fans who think drivers owe them something a reason to whine.

There is a very large gap in between "Miss Congeniality" and poster boy for douchbaggery. Being a complete dickhead at the track is NOT what contributed to his success. It might have even been a major factor in why Sammy has failed at any higher (paying) forms of motorsports.

sammy (and jeff) have made and invested their money and both are worth quite a bit.....but thats not the point of this post....the point is that when your own father (sam sr.) says (to me) that "sometimes he can be the worlds biggest fucking asshole".....kinda puts things into perspective.....and my response to the "he has never embarresed a sponsor".....i'm sure i'm not alone when i say he has done so on numerous occasions.......some are listed in this thread.

Anybody that makes fun of Sammy and B-Mains obviously has no knowledge of sprint car history and maybe none in general. A driver can also be a loser, finish last every week in NASCAR and still be a millionaire at the end of the year which is one reason NASCAR sucks 'cause 43rd position pays so well so why race.
