Going back to an 18 inch wide right rear and allowing a 2 inch wickerbill. Posse will prob go along with the WoO rules as they normally do. But as good as the racing has been at Knoxville I hope they do not.

There are only two reasons why they wouldn't follow the WOO rules on this.
A. They plan to unsanction the nationals (unlikely)
B. They want to remove any reasons shot a local might have of winning when the Outlaws roll into town. (Not likely either)
So I would bet they are following suit.

And the lack of an official sanction matters how? Just because it isn't official doesn't mean it isn't a defacto sanction. The WoO has listed every night on their schedule for years. WoO drivers have won how many of the recent nationals?
Long story short I will bet they will adapt the new WoO rules like everyone else in the country. Agree or disagree it doesn't matter.

Knoxville did not allow the softer rt rear tire that the outlaws used last year. They are more concerned about a strong weekly show than having their regulars able to beat the outlaws.

I'm Wondering if WoO will go to what the KWS runs in California, the HTW on the right rear. They also run it on there Civil War Series cars.

These 2 changes if true will only lock down the cars more & create more dirty air. Not sure much thought is put into these type of changes.

Yeah someone please state their scientific knowledge on why or why not these changes will help the racing. I think the WoO people know a tad bit more about sprint cars than you do.

Well...if my memory serves...Straight Shooter wrenches a car that has beaten the entire WoO field several times in recent years.
Lincoln 1845 ft/.35 mile T1=118MPH
Eldora 2287 ft/.43mile T3=135MPH
Port 2716 ft/.51 mile T3=TBD
Grove 2792 ft/.53 mile T3=135MPH
Selinsgrove 2847 ft/.54 mile T1=136MPH

Maybe that is what they want so they don't have to pay as much tow money? This year they ran Motter, the Kinsers and Sides out of business. Maybe they want to get it down to 6 or 7 NASCAR funded teams that can dominate the rest of the country financially? The only other reason might be so the KKR and CJB fast time squads have a schat(z) at winning a few races to keep the fans interested. They somehow manage put the Scruffy team out of business with this horse shit they need strung up by their balls. The Goodyear was 18" and it was less hooked up than the 16" track record Hoosiers they are running now.
They don't even know how to spell sprint car
much less chromoly...http://www.ycmco.com

I wish they had knowledge on how to make heat races something more than glorified hot laps.

Until the WoO address the stupid high costs of engines (and unneeded power), which will make for better competition, nothing is going to change. It looks to me like the rule changes only make it less expensive for the high dollar NASCAR/WoO teams to maintain the huge advantage they currently have. The lower dollar teams still won't compete with the money disadvantage. Before anyone disses me for wanting to diminish the huge HP and Torque that todays high dollar engines produce....think about this....it's not the speed that makes for good racing...it's the closeness of the competition. A good example is USAC wingless wheel to wheel competition. It's not the wings that prevent that. It's the imbalance in team budgets!

Big deal. They tried a tire this year too (HR15) that didn't produce the results they expected, so it's no longer approved for 2016.
If the 18" tire doesn't do what they expect, my guess is they will drop it again in 2017.
2015 rules allowed a 1" wickerbill on the wing. They increased it for 2016 (again, big deal), my guess is if they don't see the results they expect, they'll drop it back to 1" again in 2017.
People complain about lack of passing, then complain when they try to change the rules to see if it will help. Rules can't stay stagnant or the racing will stay stagnant. If changing small things like wickerbills and tires helps the racing, GREAT! If it doesn't, it's still cheaper for the teams than making wholesale changes to the wing design or making wholesale changes to tires and wheels and then seeing no results or results that are the opposite of what is expected.
My hope would be that Carlton talked to the drivers and got their feedback on what will help the cars in dirty air. If he didn't, than he's stupid. Those behind the wheel are the ones that have the best information (and it's in their best interest to make it easier to pass cars). Although Schatz hasn't had any issues passing cars the last 10 years now....

How much should they slow sprint cars down? 4 cylinder shit boxes run side by side A LOT. But they are going 40 mph.
Competition was great at Knoxville with last year's rules. Take some offset out of the side boards so the left rear is not planted so hard coming off the corners. Costs a handful of rivets to do that. That is something Brad Doty recommend several years ago.
Let's try the things that cost the low dollar teams the least first. Big changes that cost more will put some teams out of business.
