I had that at my fingertips because of a slightly heated deabate on DirtVision last year with one of the DV people. There was no way he was going to concede that the Nationals weren't still sanctioned by the WoO. I gave up trying to get him to see the facts. I remember when Knoxville dropped the WoO sanction, Ted Johnson (God rest his soul) stated that he would schedule a huge WoO show in Texas and go up against the Nationals.  Ralph Capatani simply laughed and said "go right ahead!" Ted passed away the next year after a long bout with cancer. Of course the WoO didn't schedule against the Nationals.

I remember when they dropped it also.  I didn't have any of the inside info on that debate, but that would have been interesting to say the least.  Obviously, both sides would stand to lose in that scenario as it would definitely hurt the sport-in my opinion.  Both organizations would survive no doubt, but both would suffer a black eye.

Can't imagine why they would want to lock these cars down even more. They are so locked down right now that they look like indy cars going through the middle of the turns on a half-mile track without even getting sideways. Despite that the racing with the WOO was actually pretty decent this year with more races actually having a battle for the lead instead of won wire to wire from the front row. The car counts and fan counts were good too, seemed like good year all in all for the woo. Why change it? Doesn't sound like it's going to be a cost cutting measure either, probably the opposite.

Every left-over tire from last season is now obsolete? IMO, the promoters of 410 tracks around the country along with their local car owners need to get together and come up with a set of 410 rules that's best for them as far as controlling costs - increasing weekly car counts and provding good racing, instead of bowing to the WOO and their ever-changing rule book. The stranglehold that the WOO has on 410 racing is starting to remind me of the stranglehold that big $$$ interests have on our government and country. Neither has been a good thing.

I don't know anything more than what the rule says.....and i read that an 18 in rr tire will be ADDED TO THE LIST OF APPROVED TIRES.

So if that is the case i doubt "every left over tire from last year will be obsolete".

to indy and beyond!!

Well said  Mr. Caulfield  . It seems to me that the WoO is giving into a few of the drivers that want these changes . But what you say needs to be done , costs, the racing itself , car counts and yes all the tracks are follwing the WoO LEAD .
