Last night might have been the worst sprint car race i have ever been to. I understand that the weather played a part....i get that, and to be racing at all is a testiment to the folks at the track, but to not even begin any track activity until 8:00pm was unbeliveable.  The fact that it looked like they had 2 pushtrucks  and took forever to even get the cars on the track was unbelievable. The fact that only 11 cars finished was unbelievable.  Where were all the other drivers?  $12k is alot of money......   Don't get me wrong, the track is wicked fast but i don't think i will ever go back.  Well maybe i will if they move the BIG GIANT SEMI TRAILERS out of the infield...move the damn pits outside the track you already have enough obsticles blocking my view of the track i don't need nascar haulers blocking my view of the turns.   I men i paid $30 to watch turn four to turn one.         Even the flaggers can't see turn 3 and thats where they start the race.....     anyway end rant.

You make   some good points  , but   they  wanted  to race  on Saturday   rather   then Sunday  , as they  might not have a  crowd , or  less cars  , actually  more  cars  came  then  expected .  Car   counts  are  down  all  over  at races  in Pa  for  various  reasons  , fuel ,tires, motors  cost  factors , track is  too  fast  for some drivers  and  other  reasons why   they  didn't   come. Yes , they  do need  to do something  with pits  , but  it  has been a   bad  year  at  Selinsgrove  , other  tracks and  other  racing   groups  .But   one thing  ,Selinsgrove   people   do care  about   fans  , and  some other  tracks  don't  care , as  they

have  the location  and get   the crowds. There  is more to say  on this topic  but  it  has  not   been  a   good year   for  many  people  , tracks   and  race   teams  in PA  .

I wish I would have been there.  Rough and fast separates the men from the boys. Anyone can skate around the bottom.  Im not sure if Greg is to be praised or the rest of the mighty posse should be picked on.

Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

Neither...  That was just a rough fast track last night.  You could see a huge "DIP" developing even in hot laps where the cars would ski jump going into turns 1/2.  I couldn't see what was going on down in 3/4 but from hearing guys lift and pickup the throttle during time trials I'll bet there was something just as nasty down there too.

When Greg said he was holding on he wasn't joking.  They just flat nailed the shock/bar package last night and everybody else missed flat missed it.

While I'm not super happy with how the racing was and the car count, you had to kinda expect it after all the rain we had yesterday morning/Friday night.  I am kinda surprised they didn't seal over the track which I think was a mistake in hind sight, but it's real easy to play Monday morning quarterback after the fact.

We'll all just move on to the next race.

I think after the last couple years of this race, it turned a bunch of fans away.  Hardly ever any really good racing, it's such a big track, only thinf that matrees is horsepower.  I agree that the haulers block all vision of turn 3 and some of turn 4, depending on your seat.  But I think some drivers realize how bad that track usually gets and how much equipment they tear up.  I seen Aaron Ott posted a video and pictures of about 10 things they destroyed last night from the track and said be wouldn't be back.  DD also said that's the reason he didn't show, yeah you might make 12000 to win, but if you don't win, then you spend 4000 in parts and fuel.

If you thoght that was the worst sprint car race you ever saw you obviously missed the first 2 outlaw races at the Grove this year and the Tuscarora 50 at Port, at least it wasnt a choo choo train, Aaron Ott said he loved the track this summer when he won the Jack Gunn Memorial in June. Hodnett didnt break any parts either did Cannon Marks Barger ect. As far as the horsepower is the only thing that matters comment, Mike Walter Jr. was running 8th with a 360 under the hood, and the only reason he pulled in was mud got packed into his left rear and it started to vibrate real bad he ended up 15th. Yes the track was bad and the reason they didnt start until 8 was becasue they spent and extra 90 mins. trying to the best they could to get the track as good as they could, If you were surprised by the track conditions then you dont know much about dirt tracks. there obviously wasnt a race for the lead but it was 2 and three wide all night in every corner, you can say what ever you want, but other than Hodnett that was one hell of an exciting race ski jumps and all. I totaly agree with getting the 3 story trailers out of the infield it ruins sight lines all over the track but you all knew that coming in gate.

Click the link below and see for your self, check out the 33 of Mike Walter Jr. in his 360 who started 18th and was up to 8th before he dropped out, he also somehow drives under a flipping TJ Stutts and does not make contact, this was some damn good exciting racing other than Hodnett checking out from the field, enjoy....

yes but they didnt all go out or get lapped on the first lap, he was holding off a bunch of 410's and not just the low buck teams, all Im trying to say is HP isnt everything at Selinsgrove you still need to be able to use it, Mikey passed alot of 410's on his way from 18th to 8th including Heimbach, Franek, Lafferty, it wasnt all attrition so whats your point. Go look at the lap chart on My laps if you dont believe me, If you were a good enough driver or had the balls to drive above the the huge berm in the middle of the turn you could pass cars, Cannon did it from 6th to 2nd and so did many others. You guys are trying to paint this negative picture of Selinsgrove and the race and it just isnt true, the track does not always get like that, infact that was the only time this year where it got a berm like that in the middle of the turn. It was still better than 99% of the 410 racing I saw at the Grove or Port this year, and that you cant deny, so take it for what it was and if you didnt like it dont come back next year.

I'm at Selinsgrove almost every Sat. night and I for one could care less if if any 410's came back.  Time to make this an ESS/URC 360 race with 50+ cars not 20 something 410's and as for Aaron Ott  Hell I see him bust sh!t up no matter where he races.

thats because selinsgrove fans know nothing about 410 racing, and it shows every time I went to a 410 race there.  I honestly felt more dumb leaving that race track, after listening to their fans.  All I know is a lot of people don't go because of track conditions usually and maybe some drivers just don't like long races like that.  Or they don't like the mandatory fuel stop.  I know a lot of fans and drivers are against that.

Please, Almighty King of the 410's grace us with all of the knowledge we lack about 410 racing LOL, Mandatory fuel stops? you mean like the Tuscarora 50? You personally know alot of fans and drivers that dont like mandatory fuel stops? Please make me a list of drivers that you have talked to that told you that, aparently your favorite driver and 4 time winner of the Selinsgrove National Open likes the track just fine and must not mind the fule stops since he was also at the tuscarora 50, Might I ask where you spend your Saturday nights watching the 410's? And please tell me all the big differences between 360 racing and 410 racing other than the size of the motor, since selinsgrove fans are so naive about 410 racing. let me thank you ahead of time for teaching us the ways of the mighty 410!!!

How did the track cost anyone alot of money? I dont recall anyone forcing anyone to race Saturday night, If you choose to race and tear your equipment up Id say thats your own damn fault. If 11 cars finished I guess the track was good enough if you are a good enough driver to deal with the track conditions. As i said earlier , Hodnett didnt tear up his car and he sure as hell wasnt lifting anywhere on the track. Holtgraver was a tenth of the track record on this terrible corn field of a track, Go back to Port or the Grove and watch the cho choo trains if that what your into.

so you can tell it was a bad race from that 5 min video? still better than Port and The Grove, Lincoln is far and away the best 410 (or any division) track in Pa. It wasnt a great race it but it was exciting with plenty of passing and side by side racing, the track conditions made it more treacherous of course but it wasnt boring I promise you that.

That race is coming up on Sat. Sept 27th  and what do you want to bet Ott puts his 360 in and comes to the $10,000 to win 360/358 National Open. You guys want to see some good racing get your heads out of the 410's ass and come watch the 358/360 Natty Open, best race of the year at any track hands down.

LOL, watch the youtube video again from the 2:05 mark going into turn one on the start.  You can see everybody from about 5th on back get way out of shape when they hit that damned thing over in turn 1.  The 12 and (I couldn't tell who else that was) on the high side were getting the hell knocked out of them.  On the bottom the 33 had to hard lift and correct his line right before hitting that damned thing.  It hopped his rear wheels and he almost took out the 1z.  The 'DIP' was just about the entire width of the track.

Not sure where you saw in his (Aaron Ott) Facebook that he is not going back.  Someone else said it and he defended the track and said it was the weather.  If I'm wrong, please show me but don't bash the guy for something he didn't say.

John KileyI'm never going back
