I just know what I saw.... poor track prep even though it rained???? They took 5 hours to do that???? LMAO... Using the comment "nobody forced anyone to race" shows that you are not much of a racer. When you pack up and head to the the track, you expect some sort of effort was also put forth by the speedway to provide a "decent " place to race. That did not happen. It did cost a lot of money for many teams for broken parts due to the effort they put forth. The place sucks ass.

No point in arguing with them, I've learned that over the years.   Selinsgrove fans are always right and are he most educated in all of racing.  Don't ever talk bad about their "fastest half mile on the east coast" or their beloved 360 drivers.  Because everyone knows, that whenever people like Kissinger, franek, Walter, etc, show up, they are he favorite at the 410 race, I've heard it numerous times from

many different selinsgrove regulars.

Last night might have been the worst sprint car race i have ever been to. I understand that the weather played a part....i get that, and to be racing at all is a testiment to the folks at the track, but to not even begin any track activity until 8:00pm was unbeliveable.  The fact that it looked like they had 2 pushtrucks  and took forever to even get the cars on the track was unbelievable. The fact that only 11 cars finished was unbelievable.  Where were all the other drivers?  $12k is alot of money......   Don't get me wrong, the track is wicked fast but i don't think i will ever go back.  Well maybe i will if they move the BIG GIANT SEMI TRAILERS out of the infield...move the damn pits outside the track you already have enough obsticles blocking my view of the track i don't need nascar haulers blocking my view of the turns.   I men i paid $30 to watch turn four to turn one.         Even the flaggers can't see turn 3 and thats where they start the race.....     anyway end rant.

Always nice to get that worst one out of the way.  No way to go but up.

Everyone   is entitled   to there  opinion   about   the  Selinsgrove  Jim Nace  Memorial   race ,  these   are   the  facts. The track was   rough   , due   to the rain , so  maybe  they should have  ran  Sunday , but then   there   might be  a   smaller  crowd  and  less  cars . Most  drivers   are not  fond of Sunday  night racng   but  the costs  make   you run  some nights
you may not  like to . Everyone  was  having  trouble   with there  equipmnet  due to rough   track . The track  got it in  for   drivers  and fans . This   track does   care  about  fans  , where  some really don't  . If   the   crowds  and car  counts

picked  up , I   believe   they   would do more  to improve   track  amenities ,  pits , grandstands  , etc . But it  has  not been a   good  year   at  Selinsgrove  or   at other tracks . Fans   need  to write  to tracks  to voice  there  opinions  or  what  they like  or don't  like  about   a  track . The fact   is   racing   is down  in central Pa  at  most  all  tracks, along with  car counts,

losing  owners, costs  continue  to climb , and teams   continue   to pour  more money  into  cars to keep up with  local racing   but   to  stay  with  WoO teams  when they come to town.   So  the  almighty  WRG  needs  to cut  costs to help  all  that  are  involved  in 410  winged  racing . The  WRG  is  controling  the   racing  rules  and more , forcing  our  local guys  to  follow  what  they  say  goes   to run for   the big   purses  at   there  races , because  all  teams   need  to run them to make   money  not  have  fun  ,like it use   to be .

In my opinion if they really cared about the teams and the fans they would have had the track sealed over before the weekend. The weather forecast was calling for rain since about Wednesday. I know everyone will comment that Port did that and the Tuscarora 50 was a bad race , but it was better than what Selinsgrove put on. Plus, the Selinsgrove crew got on the track at 3:00 in the afternoon. That is plenty of time to scratch it up and groom it the way it should be. I chalk this up to lack of effort by Selinsgrove's track crew. Port on the other hand had a track that was easier on equipment. If the rain had stopped earlier as it did at Selinsgrove , they would have had the track in the normal Saturday night shape.

What are you talking about? What does a few fans favorite drivers have to do with this thread? I sincerely doubt anyone truly believed a Selinsgrove regular was a favorite to win that race, that's just silly. I said I agree it was a rough track, I agree it wasn't a great race, but it wasn't the worst race of the year, Thank god they didn't seal the track over, because that was still better than watching the leaders not being able to pass the the last car in the race. If you thought the Tuscarora 50 was better than that race you clearly have no clue. Tenter, how many races have you raced this year? If I pack up and head to the track and I get there and decide the track is terrible, I pack my car up and leave, if I stay and race and tear up my car, it's my fault, does that make sense to you? You guys made your point the place sucks blah blah blah, but you will come back for the next 410 race just like I'll go to the next snoozarora 50, Only difference is I won't start a thread bashing the track for the crappyear racing, and by the way I thank Aaron Ott who tore up his car but said the racing is good at Selinsgrove and understands that it was a weather issue and his opinion means much more than a couple of whiners on hoseheads.

As refined and regulated as the cars are getting, if you don't have a little rough and plenty sticky we're hosed.  Tiptoeing around on an ice rink 3 or 4 seconds off the pace with nothing up top sucks.  24 cars 30 miles an hour slower than their ability under a blanket (kind of sounds like NASCAR plate stuff to me) or 11 cars balls to the wall............. not even a debate for me.

Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

Selinsgrove has not been able to beg a quality field of 410s for over a decade...no matter the moisture content of the coat, it is a race of attrition as half the cars always seem to drop out or get involved in crashes.

if you attend the 410 race of the season there, it is usually enough to cure you for the year...you might return after a winter off for a slice of dust pizza the following spring.

Port Royal makes the most obvious improvements...Susky remains a light at the end of the tunnel with the  added entertainment of busted board bingo....Lincoln nails it every week...the Grove slides toward third world conditions, with biweekly fireworks.

Lincoln 1845 ft/.35 mile T1=118MPH
Eldora 2287 ft/.43mile T3=135MPH
Port 2716 ft/.51 mile T3=TBD
Grove 2792 ft/.53 mile T3=135MPH
Selinsgrove 2847 ft/.54 mile T1=136MPH

Te edit button for this website is a third world experience...sorry about the typos, my iPad typing skills are ups on blocks, the WoO work area was moved to the pits halfway thru the event and the local Polaris dealer was closing in 15 minutes and could not deliver me a fully dressed mule.

Tough crowd....

It rained all day. If they would have cancelled/postponed many would be bitchin that they could have got it in - and then likely would still have complained about the conditions

All things considered, I guarantee all those in attendence saw a much better race than I did - which was no race.

Need to get yall  "a bad night at the speedway beats a good night at home" bumper stickers.

So you personally raced a car at 27 races this year. What kind of car do you race and at what track?

Sure it was Tenter, sure it was. Your so full of shit I can smell it through my screen. Buying a t shirt, a pit pass and sniffing your favorite drivers seat does not count but keep telling yourself you raced in 27 races this year. You the man.

The   comments   on here   are   good and bad  toward   Selinsgrove ?  Yes   the track  was   rough  , but  it was  the normal 410  sprint  car  race  on  a  1/2 mile   track   spread  out  but fast .   The  way  I see   it , this  is the way  I rate  the racing at our area    tracks  .   1.   Port   Royal --   good , as   they   are  improving  the facility  every year
                                     2.  Selinsgrove  --  a   good   track   that  cares  about fans  ,but  needs  more  work

                                     3.  Lincoln   ----  good   racing  because  it limits the 410  speed , but to tight , a spinout and there   is nowhere  to go , cars don't  sound  like  sprint  cars , needs  more  fan   improvements

                                      4.  Susquehanna -- good  racing  , but  dirty  facility  needs  more  improvements  , unsafe   for  fans  ,  poor   restrooms

                                       5.  Grandview  --good  racing --poor  facilty

                                       6.  Path  Valley  --  tight  small  1/4  mile  , good racing  but  lousy  fan  facility

                                        7.  Williams    Grove  -  good  facility  , but  one groove racing , needs  new  management ,to improve   track ,  clean up   the present  facility  for  fans  use

But   the   best   track   for   fans  is on the border  of PA  and  Ohio - Sharon Speedway--and  its  the nicest   facility , convenience for   fans ,  3/8  mile track  the best  size  for  a  dirt  track , but  not  enough 410  racing  due   to restricted  budget , oh  yes  it needs  new clay .

I'm  sure  there  will  be  opposition  too  my  comments  , but  this is  my  opinion , whats  yours ? Also  none of the tracks   really   run the  program  quick  enough  except  --  Susquehanna

i think you got port and lincoln mixed.  The cars sound more like a sprint car than at port royal since port has the muffler rule.  Lincoln is by far the best track for lots of reasons.  1. Always try to get show in regardless of time.  2. Small track always produces great racing. 3. Fred putney is probably one of the best track Maintence guys in the business. 4. Their quality of cars is second to none of Saturday night racing.  Don't get me wrong, port has some heavy hitters, but Lincoln has the guys: monteith, Deitrich, marka, Siegel, krimes, grasso.  Port has: Layton hodnett dewease heimbach.  Selinsgrove has turned into the mark smith show this year.

Actually Marks has run more than half of the races at Port , as has Ryan Smith. The same amount as Dewease. Esh is a pretty good car that runs at Port too.  If you comapre that in the Williams Grove point standings you have Hodnett , Dewease, Esh , Smith, and Marks all in the top 8. Lincoln just has Krimes and Montieth in the top 8. Krietz the point leader runs at neither track. I'd give the nod to Port Royal.
