This will be my 1st Chili Bowl and we secured a hotel at Tradewinds w/ the Elephant Run bar so we are off to a good start.
Anyone have suggestions on good breakfast or lunch spots..... any favorite bars in the area. Anything fun to do during the day before the races start?
thanks

The best place in town for all services, including drinks, entertainment, food and social activities is at the Hard Rock Casino. Only 10 miles +- from the track. And the chance to win enough to pay for the trip. If you don't leave there a huge winner, at least you have helped the Cherokees in their quest to buy back all the land that was stolen from them. And you may see Tony, Kasey and other celebraties there as the Casino comps their rooms while they are in town. Other great eating joints are Tally's for Breakfast, about a mile from the track and Ike's Chile for lunch, about 2 miles from the track.

Personally, I'd rather go to Twin Peaks after the races as they serve late...

Not sure if they have them where you are from (I only get to have it during Chili Bowl week), But McCallister's Deli is almost rock throwing distance from the expo and is fantastic!
Real race cars don't have fenders...

Highly recommend Cloud 9 for a late night all you can eat buffet. It's quite the delicacy!

Thanks for the kind words there Mike. Sure wish you could be here, I miss the "Good ole Days", and the fans, some who are no longer with us. Your vending booth had to be the most popular meeting place in the whole building. Take it easy!

Forget all of those chain places....Hit the local fare, you won't regret it, I lived in Tulsa for about 35 years and visit numerous times a year. These are my "staples" .... Ike's Chili House....in business for 106 years. Then there's Goldies Patio Grill.... The "Original" Coney-I-Lander.....And then there is my favorite, Viet Huong. Absolutely the best Asian food you will ever eat. Sure, it looks like a shit hole, but don't let looks decieve, it's been voted "Best in Tulsa" for many, many years. For BBQ, I always hit Elmer's "It Be Bad" BBQ.

Umberto's Pizza, Albert G's BBQ, and Brownie's Burgers all within a mile or so of the Expo building. After hours the Elephant Run at your hotel has some Chili Bowl legends associated with it! On the other side of I-44 is a bar called Craw Pappy's where the beef is always cold. If you want breakfast check out Brookside By Day on Peoria or Talley's...
And I agree, Cheroger knows his way around Tulsa. Can't fault any of his suggestions!

Try Albert G's BBQ just newly opened downtown location at 421 E 1st street if you get downtown. The original Albert G's BBQ store is 2748 S. Harvard.
Albert G's BBQ sponsors Roger and Lara Miller's #75 midgets driven this year by Landon Simon and Justin Grant.

"Billy Sims BBQ" on Sheridan is alot like Rib Shack but better. Billy is a former Heisman winner and player in the NFL. Good stuff

If I remember correct, the top three from each night are locked in...The winners from each night draw for the first two rows, then 2nd place finishers draw for rows 3 and 4...Then 3rd place finishers draw for rows 5 and 6. The other 6 rows are filled with the top 6 from each "B" Main.
