I heard Sammy's engines at the end of the season were being done by a guy in Iowa. Anyone know who?

Al Parker in Newton.

Does he build engines for anyone else? Was he the one responsible for the power under the hood of David Hesmer back in the day?

At the Nationals, Sammy's motor was an Ott from what I understood. Sammy took that motor to Parker. They put it on his dyno and made some adjustments and/or modifications. The motor ran really well.

Clint Garner,(2010 360 points) and a couple others utilize Parker power as Knox regulars, to my knowledge.. I could be wrong?

I totally agree with 72fan..I wouldn't take another motor there if they did it for free. You will never know if the parts you leave with are the same parts you took there...voice of experience

So you are saying when someone brings a motor to Parker, "he switches parts", puts your motor back togather & sends you on down the road? Wow!!!

Wow you must be a real dip-shit! You posted, "quote" (to many sucking vultures going at it )lol. For one thing Tod from Big Game is a true ambassador to sprint car racing! And I think I heard that Sammy was bringing the motors to his ride.

Its obvious who the dip shit is here and it is you my friend. For one if you think that Sammy is going to spend a dime of his own money on at least five engines (ten if he runs Parker) then yep your a dip shit. If you think Parker can rip enough of his paying customers of to field motors for Sammy you may be on the right track but your still a dip shit. Big Game Tod is good for the sport, but if you think he gives a shit about anything but his money you are a dip shit....

I thought about leaving this alone but it just keep eating at me. Some of you might know Al or have done work with him, but I have had nothing but good times with him. He once told me "you gotta remember I'm not new at this I'm good at this" and that he is. We were dq'd for head specs by ASCS at the 360 Nationals and that was the year that they came out with the no-go tool Al told me if they would have checked the head the way they did before we would have had no problems. There are alot of engine builders out there and each have customers who are loyal to them and that is what I am to Parker Engines. I was excited when I seen this post come up because there alot of people who have never heard of Parker Engines, but this is the last thing I wanted to see. For anyone interested in the shop it is a 4 man shop with the best tooling there is, Al does the machining himself and his son is in the assembly with 2 others helping keep things moving along. Wolfgang told me one time "I would not know Al if he walked in today but I can guarantee you one thing he must be good other wise Sammy would be down the road". I will have to admit , after completion of the King of the 360's, maybe it was 2007? I watched the teching of the heads and injection , I was a bit surprized how poorly the device was and what made a head lagit, the device simply clearanced on 'one"area of the Intake port runner, Ive heard there has since been changes to the technical device, I dont run ASCS, but, honestly, I believe there was a loophole in thier teching that made alot of heads no longer legal, its just competition, every engine builder that finds a area to sell to customers will push the limit, welcome to tight "spec"competition Im not sure 360 racing's future , but, I dont see the cap in costs coming anytime soon. It was a good Idea but has gotten out of hand. JMO

Clint, great post and some kind words for Mr. Parker. One question; do you get free use of an engine from Mr. Parker?
