I remember when the Outlaws decided to go to all winged shows back in the early days. Sammy was asked what he preferred, wing or non-wing, he replied...
"I'll drive them any way I have to."

As I read all the post hear, I have to wonder why Sammy would have to take a Don Ott motor to another builder. The first thought that comes to mind is that said motor builder would like to see what Don Ott builds!! I am not pointing fingers in any way!! I am sure Mr Parker is a great motor builder.
The only reason I think why a drive would take a motor another builder is to have him copy it, for a cheaper price!!
I do know this, a few years agao Al Hamilton sold all his equip. He used Don Ott Motors, I was at the auction, one motor sold for over $70,000.00 Don himself bought the motor, he stated that the other builder was with kistler, Don didn't want them to know what was in that motor!!

The $70,000 motor may have been the billet block motor.
Sammy took the Ott motor to Parker during the Nationals. They had it on his dyno. One reason I can think of was to get the jetting right.

Its obvious who the dip shit is here and it is you my friend. For one if you think that Sammy is going to spend a dime of his own money on at least five engines (ten if he runs Parker) then yep your a dip shit. If you think Parker can rip enough of his paying customers of to field motors for Sammy you may be on the right track but your still a dip shit. Big Game Tod is good for the sport, but if you think he gives a shit about anything but his money you are a dip shit....

I met Al Parker a couple years ago. Most people who are as smart as he is are not very kind and curtious as Al Parker. I was struggling with my 632 drag engine. He worked relentlessly on it just so I could make a couple races with my drag car. He went over and above what he had to do to help me out. I consider Al a friend and obviously anyone who does not think of him as a fair and honest engine builder TRUELY needs their head examined. He is a great man and an absolute genious!

So I'm reading this thread and I see that Petey made a post and I immediately think who the hell took his name, sheesh. I then check the date and I felt a whole lot better, then I immediately felt very sad in realization that he's gone and the Chili Bowl is right around the corner. Not that they will ever know or see but all the best to his family this first Christmas without their son......
PS Hesmer and Garner are two of the nicest, easy going straight shooters this sport has known, they alone would put any worries about Mr. Parker to rest for me....

A Ford costs more than $70,000.00????
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

ASCS Engines - We do not know about illegal engines but we do know Huggins Cams has been in the winning engines at the 360 Nationals since 2000 - 2011 eight times - the last two with Shane Stewart with 23 races on the engine. So Get One Or Follow One. Not bragging - just facts!

I usually just read these posts and leave it alone but in this case just want to give my opinion. I have known Al 25+ years and have ran his engines as well as those of several other builders. With Parker engines alone have over 100 wins without a single engine failure. As long as you let Al build it the way he wants/needs to and then follow his instructions to the letter you will have success. Al will ALWAYS tell you how he sees it, might not be what you want to hear but it is how he sees it. IMO at this point if you are not winning, you need to either fire your driver or your crew chief (or both) as your engine is NOT your problem. Al doesn't need it but I will stand up for him anytime.

I totally agree with 72fan..I wouldn't take another motor there if they did it for free. You will never know if the parts you leave with are the same parts you took there...voice of experience

All I can say is WOW!......... Everytime a post comes on here about Al Parker the peanut gallery of 72Fan and Sprnt96 have to chime in. I myself have known Al for almost 40 years and by saying that I think I can speak for him on both of your issues...... (72Fan) saying Al is a money sucking vulture.....hmmm.......the only thing I can come up with is maybe you wanted the best (Parker Motors) but didnt want to pay. I assume you came to pick up your motor with no money......no motor. The fact is......you get what you pay for with Al. He will always be up front with you, his famous question is; How fast do you want to go? After that question is answered, we can talk dollars.
Now to Sprnt96.............. I can guarantee you this, Al aint gonna do it for free and this espescially goes for you. Al installs the best parts in a motor that money can buy so why would he want your parts unless they were worn out and needed changed. I assume you took your motor there to get freshened up so therefore, during a freshen you will get some new parts as needed. Unfortunately, if even you asked Al a question at the track, he would probably even answer you since he is obviously a better person than you to come on here and run your yap about him.
......And by the way unlike you two, I will not hide behind my little computer screen, I will be morre than happy to sign my post. Have a nice day and good luck on your racing adventures!!!!
