I would be absolutely stunned if he leaves the area winless. Path Valley and Grandview wins I have him down for. McFadden could stop him at GView though, he has a win there coming.

I'm a Posse fan but would love to see him do well. He was awful a few years ago at Speedweek, but I think it was his car.

I hope he can win.  If he doesn't, his career will be meaningless.

Pubic gets excited when anyone from out of trailer park area in Pennsylvania can lose. Sumbitch you need to get of the COUCH son. There's badass racing all over the country,  but no you just want to stroke your self inflicted ego more and that's a crying shame for the rest of us sprint car fan's across this country.

If he has an ounce of sticky and something more to lean on than the light poles, he spank them like he does everywhere.  Grit, talent, balls, will to win etc does one no good most nights in pa on our hard smooth dry surfaces.  Give him some tricky rough and he'll show us our current stars are as average as the equipment they compete with.

Posse is way down..... I bet they don't even get a win against the WOO this whole year!

Couldn't agree more. Give him a real honest to god curb instead of a Port Royal paper thin strip of watered dust, and he'll do just fine.

A couple of things are certain.

1-They will all be running the same track which won't be prepared for any one driver.

2-Port Royals track condition won't matter since he will not be running there.

Anyone has to admire the height of possephobia that makes world class racers like Kasey Kahne and Kyle Larson hire Posse crew chief Lee Stauffer to help them win in Central PA. Hats off for your determination. Hopefully Smoke is at least paying attention, either for himself or his All Stars which are in a 47 year slump.

The same can be said about tracks he will be running at.  Hagerstown + water + Larson could equal 120 mph slide jobs ending in wheel stands like the old days.  Unfortunately most PA fans are totally stoked with a parched slow surface as long as the guy winning uses a PA mailing address??????????????????????

Has he said what car he will be running the last time he was at the Grove he drove the Buch 13 in the National Open and a beat up and tired #1 during speedweek after running Ohio.

I THINK ITS GREAT that the Nascar point leader coming off a win has the desire to race for pocket change at tracks hes not familiar with when the rest of the feild will be trying to beat him.

Lets hope the weather is good those four days so the fans can show up to witness one of the greats on his way to superstardom.

Looks like Hagerstown will be the only matchup between Larson and Lance. 

Can't wait to see him at Path Valley. As mentioned already, he's got a great shot to win there and Grandview for sure. Has a shot to anywhere!

What you described brings back fond memories of the classic dual between Rahmer & Jeff Shepard back in 2008. One of the best races I've ever witnessed. We sure don't see much of that these days since the Central PA tracks (with the exception of Lincoln most of the time) decided that the best method of track prep is to make it 3/4 pavement. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy the hell out of going to the races and all in all, sprint car racing is still exciting but Central PA's obsession with beating the cushion down to nothing more than slightly more moist dust is making it easier to do other stuff when the weekend comes. Tonight at Port, they'll take a couple dozen fire trucks & parade them around the track for a half hour effectively beating it to a pulp. Gotta give them credit for being creative but I'm glad I won't be there to see it.

You guys have no idea wehat you are talking about. A heavy wet track will give you a high speed parade around the cushion with little passing 90% of the time. The good racing happens when the track slicks off and the cushion moves up to the fence and it actually takes some skill and balls to run there. Port nails it more often than not and when the track is too dry, they take the time to add moisture around the top so you still see a good feature. A heavy wet track is good for bullring racing but not for half-miles.

I talk to Steve Swartz  almost every week at Port. When I ask him about the track prep, his reply is  "The driver's want it smooth and slick."

So, the way I see it, The track is just giving the DRIVERS what THEY want.  Don't blame the promoters or the people who work on and do the track prep. 

With that being said, Anybody who has been going to any of the big half miles in PA should already know that if they give the drivers a wet heavy track, the racing lane will be narrow and they will just be single file, hammer down around the curb. It is like watching sprint cars on a high speed rail. That is not the fault of the drivers. I blame that on the rules package that has been adopted by all three of the tracks that run 410 sprint cars on a weekly basis.

I always look forward to going to small bull rings like Path Valley for their 410 shows. I really miss the 410 shows that were held at Silver Springs. Just imagine what it would be like if they would make the surface at Path Vally heavy and a bit choppy, THAT would be some great racing!
