Rev, here's where Kyle confirms the $13k number on Twitter:
https://twitter.com/KyleLarsonRacin/status/881773150987579394.
At $25 a shirt that's 520 shirts, but it does say "merch" so that could mean hoodies, hats, etc. Also you know as well as I that some people probably bought 2 - 3 items (for themselves or family / friends) so it's more likely that about 350-400 (or even less) people/transactions were made, which actually sounds doable. Some people probably spent $50.
Here's another thread where Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. agrees with the "made more than Nascar sales" part. Souinds like they get fleeced for profit % on those sales.

I liked the "Kyle Takes on The Posse" T-shirt but I'm trying to restrain myself on T-shirts, way too many already
I don't think Kyle needs the dough...

Cool thing was that driving West on I-84, just after crossing Delaware River into Pa., THERE WAS A BEAR running across the road! Haven't seen a live bear in the wild since spending most of a summer in Alaska, 1994 (saw a dead one in the hills South of Wilkes Barre on I-81 a few years ago) No wonder they call it Pennsyltucky....easy drive too, no traffic problems in usual choke points of Danbury Ct., Scranton/ Wilkes Barre & Harrisburg. Got to Path Valley area in time for a swim at Cowan's Gap SP too.
But now I have to think again... saw Brad Doty & he reminded me about his WoO race Tuesday at Attica. Should I skip Grandview & see that one on my way to Indiana? I liked that track earlier this spring on my drive East, very racy....
Only bummer (major) was serious injury to that guy in 600 race.... any news?
|
I think Doty's race is next Tuesday but I'm not sure. That's pretty cool you saw a bear. It's pretty common when you live out in the sticks where I do. We've had them in our yard I don't know how many times. I just read an article not too long ago in Pennsylvania Game News that was talking about how bears are turning up more and more in urban areas.....Even occasionally in the Philadelphia area.

Can anyone explain why DeWease started so far back in the A-Main? Scoreboard was useless for Time Trials & speakers were really "muddy" sounding, couldn't understand much, especially while TTs were going
Also, any word on injured driver?

We see black bears all the time in Western PA, seems like more and more every year. Pretty common occurence as you note when you live in/near the sticks.

You're right, someone already straightened me out on that. Perfect timing for drive back after 3 Indy Sprint week races, but it would mean leaving Mom alone 2 more days
Bears have been seen in our part of Ct. too, haven't seen one yet. I'd love to, but poor old Mom would be terrified...

I would be absolutely stunned if he leaves the area winless. Path Valley and Grandview wins I have him down for. McFadden could stop him at GView though, he has a win there coming.

So far so good, we'll see....

If Hagerstown is dead slick, I'm going to throw a Baby Ruth on the front stretch. Thanks Mr Rahmer for a great surface.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

Lance was going to start somewhere around 12th. The team felt the track conditions were not worth risking the car so they started at the rear ran one lap and pulled in.

The hall of fame dream team has now been reduced to a start & park!! Didn't someone once have a T-shirt that said something about, 'if you can't run with the big dogs !@^t p*#!??

Thanks. What were their issues with the track?

I wasn't there but if it was a little rough all I will say is I have seen it before. Maybe it was mechanical issues?

From highlights, track was cowboy up and rough. Lots of bouncing around. Sort of like CA tracks can be at times.
FWIW Brad Doty just tweeted that Larson was down to 7 cylinders last night...doesn't matter much on a 1/4 mile, but still...

The track was cowboy rough in hot laps through heats...it looked better for the feature after they ran the roller around it..
No expert here... but a set of 1970s discs and a water truck aint enough!!

Other than your usual PA homers, is anyone surprised? He beat the Worlds best at Eagle, totally dominated a stout Ohio Speedweek field, and now has beaten the Posse on a pretty neutral track. I think Kemenah beat them there in years past and Clauson came pretty close as well. If he were only racing at the Grove, I'd be surprised by a win, but path Valley and Grandview are tailored to his driving style.

I guess a better question would be if Larson is gonna lose any in PA? Wow!

Anyone has to admire the height of possephobia that makes world class racers like Kasey Kahne and Kyle Larson hire Posse crew chief Lee Stauffer to help them win in Central PA. Hats off for your determination. Hopefully Smoke is at least paying attention, either for himself or his All Stars which are in a 47 year slump.
|
Pubic has always got some kind of angle on why somebody other than a member of the Posse didn't win. Now young money is is only winning because of the crew chief. I just wish it was already done so we could hear the crickets again like when the outlaws were there last time. Didn't hear to much from Pubic then. But as usual when his drivers aren't winning should we be surprised. Hey Pubic news flash: you gotta be the dumbest.
