XXX chassis carries Kirkpatrick, Carpenter, Boyce and Shelton to victories The XXX chassis picked up more wins this past weekend. Triple X Race Co.'s success at Skagit Speedway continued as Brian Kirkpatrick and Kelsey Carpenter both picked up main event victories. Bill Boyce got his first win of the year in a sportsman sprint at Bridge County Raceway in Alberta and Heath Shelton earned his first victory in the limited sprint division at Cottage Grove Speedway. It's like clockwork. Every week Skagit Speedway has held its weekly show, at least one of the sprint car main events have been won by a XXX chassis, and Saturday was no different. Brian Kirkpatrick, the defending 360 sprint car division champion at Skagit Speedway, picked up his second win of the season in his No. 5k XXX. Kirkpatrick inherited the lead when Travis Rutz had ignition box problems. Kirkpatrick led the rest of the race and had three other XXX cars following him . Brock Lemley finished second and Alan Munn was third. Rutz, also driving a XXX car, got his ignition box fixed and drove back through the field to finish fourth. Triple X Race Co.'s own Kelsey Carpenter continued his domination of the sportsman sprint division at Skagit Speedway as he won the main event for the fifth time this season in his No. 27c XXX. Again, Carpenter was dominant as he led every lap, turned in the fastest lap of the race and his margin of victory was nearly five full seconds. That class also qualified this week, and Carpenter set a new track record for sportsman sprints with a time of 13.228 seconds. North of the border, longtime Canadian standout Bill Boyce got his first win of the season Saturday at Bridge County Raceway in Lethbridge, Alberta. Driving his No. 1 XXX, Boyce was racing in the sportsman sprint division, which in Alberta is quickly growing and becoming increasingly popular. At Cottage Grove Speedway in Oregon, Heath Shelton has run hard all season. On Saturday, his hard work finally paid off when he scored his first win of the season in the limited sprint division. Shelton started the feature on the pole and would lead all 25 laps aboard his No. 75 XXX. Shelton was almost never threatened and won by more than a second over second place. Triple X Race Co. would like to congratulate everyone who won in a XXX chassis this week.
