Steve Kilcup returns to racing, finishes 7th in Skagit 410'sFor only the second time this season, Sedro-Woolley, Washington racer and former Skagit Speedway champion Steve Kilcup was on the track at Skagit, thanks to some big help from the sponsors of Mike & Shaylen Motorsports. The evening's events were Round 7 of Skagit's "Foothills Toyota Tundra Racing Series."Steve was again driving the M & S Motorsports No. 18 Shark-powered entry sponsored by Performance R/C Hobbie, Shark Engines, Speedmart Inc., SignMart USA and Anderson Power Washing and he left the track on Saturday night with a respectable seventh place finish in the 25-lap main event. Kilcup finished in eighth place his other time out on May 9th.Kilcup started his evening by qualifying 13th quick with a time of 12.168 seconds around the 3/10-mile, high-banked clay oval. He then finished seventh in the evening's first heat race.Steve then had the difficult task of starting deep in the 18-car field for the main event, officially starting 14th. When cars are all around you, trouble is a real possibility. The veteran racer, however, stayed out of trouble in the early going. He was in ninth place in just four laps as a result. He later lost the spot to reigning Dirt Cup champion Jayme Barnes but would get himself back up to eighth place on Lap 11 when Kevin Smith dropped out of the race.Kilcup moved up to seventh place on Lap 18 and would finish in that position, and on the lead lap. Only nine cars completed all 25 laps.Kilcup and car owner Mike Anderson would like to thank all of their sponsors - Performance R/C Hobbies, Shark Engines, Speedmart Inc, SignMart USA, Burlington Collision, Anderson Power Washing, H2H Photo, Race Outfitters and Heavy D for their support. M & S Motorsports will be announcing Dirt Cup news in the next few days.- - -Sponsors for M & S MotorsportsPerformance R/C Hobbies Shark Engines Speedmart Inc.
