Ryan Jones wins from 17th in his XXX, earns back-to-back Australia 360 titles! Winning from way in the back is never easy to do and is impressive when done. On Sunday, Ryan Jones ended up loving his new Triple X sprint car for doing just that. He started 17th and drove his way forward, all the way to the top position to win the 40-lap finale at Murray Bridge Speedway to win the Australian 360 Sprint Car Championship. Even better for Jones, he became the first South Australian to ever win two of them. This is also Triple X Race Components INC's first championship of 2009. The 24-year-old Jones did not need all 40 laps to get his car to the front of the field. In fact he needed less than 30. During a red flag stop with 28 laps down, Jones was unaware he was even leading until one of his pit crew members signaled to him from outside the track that he was actually the leader. Jones, understandably, had been too busy passing cars to pay attention to what position he was in. Now knowing where he was running, all Jones had to do was just keep his XXX sprint car on all fours and out of trouble, and he did so with flying colors. Jones, who won the championship last year driving XXX sprinters, debuted that one particular XXX car only a week earlier. It didn't take Jones and his crew very long to figure out a good setup for his new XXX, which Jones hailed and thanked the company for in his own press release. "During the title final the new style XXX was unreal, once we got it right, and to win from 17th at an Aussie Title with the best 360 guys in the country in front of me was also pretty cool," Jones had said.
