Hillier moves up to 15^th in Outlaw points

Chad Hillier’s sophomore season with the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series in now in the home stretch with just seven races left in the tour’s 30^th Anniversary Season. Saturday night in Minnesota, Chad left Princeton Speedway with an 11^th place finish and a new spot in the series point standings.

Driving the DIRT Inc. No. 5c Maxim sponsored by Jansma Construction, Wink Dog Motorsports and Fast Wings, Hillier drove a to 17^th place finish Friday night in the tour’s inaugural visit to North Central Speedway in Brainerd, Minnesota. The next night in the Princeton Nationals, which was promoted by fellow Outlaw Craig Dollansky, Hillier turned in his best qualifying performance of the season as he timed in second fastest with a time of 10.232 seconds around the ¼-mile clay oval, putting him in the evening’s second heat race.

The format used by the tour has the first and second place heat race finishers automatically qualify for the Crane Cams Dash. The two fastest time trialers who also transfer out of their heat races also get in the dash. Hillier took the last transfer spot in his heat and was in the dash on Saturday, guaranteeing him a top-ten starting position for the 40-lap A-Feature event. Chad ended up finishing seventh to have the inside fourth row starting spot for the big race.

Hillier drove a strong race and finished 11^th, and as a result of his performances he has now moved up to 15^th in the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series standings. His $1,500 earned on Saturday has pushed him to more than $53,000 earned this season.

Next for Chad is the final westward journey of the season. This Saturday and Sunday he will race at Hollywood Hills Speedway in New Mexico before two events in California. The series then goes back east for a make-up race at Heartland Park Topeka in Kansas and closes its 30^th Anniversary with the Outlaw World Finals at the Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motor Speedway in North Carolina.
