Hillier has pair of 15th place finishes in Oil City Cup
ALK Promotions, August 24Chad Hillier finished 15th twice this weekend’s Oil City Cup at Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, now giving him six straight top-15 finishes with the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.Driving the DIRT Inc. No. 5c Maxim sponsored by Jansma Construction, Wink Dog Motorsports and Fast Wings, Hillier started his weekend on Friday by qualifying 18th quickest out of 31 drivers with a time of 13.419 seconds around the 3/8-mile clay oval. Hillier held on to the sixth and final transfer position in the third heat race to transfer to the A-Feature event. Starting 18th, Hillier finished 15th.Saturday night saw all 31 cars return to Castrol Raceway and Chad again qualified 18th with a time of 14.529 seconds on a slower track. Racing in the third heat race again, Hillier finished fourth to transfer to the A-Feature. Finishing 15th, Hillier earned $1,900 for the weekend.Hillier continues to hold down the 16th position in the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series point standings. With Tony Bruce Jr. finishing behind Hillier both nights, Hillier crept a little closer to Bruce for 15th place.All eyes will be on Hillier this coming weekend when he returns home to Washington to race at Skagit Speedway and Grays Harbor Raceway. Friday and Saturday, August 29 and 30, will be the NC Machinery Caterpillar Clash at Skagit, near Burlington, where Hillier is a multi-time track champion. On Monday, September 1, Hillier and the rest of the Outlaws will return to Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma.After the Tuesday, September 2 race at Cottage Grove Speedway in Oregon, the “Gold Rush Tour” culminates with the Gold Cup Race of Champions at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Calif. on September 4, 5 and 6.DIRT Inc. is currently seeking companies that are interested in advertising and being part of the team as they race across the nation, coast to coast, and onto your television screen.
