Hillier ninth at Paducah with the Outlaws

After a rough patch where he missed a few A-Feature events, Sedro-Woolley, Wash. driver Chad Hillier turned things back around on Monday night when he posted his third top-ten finish of the year and tied his best finish of his second full season on the road with the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.

Hillier, driving the DIRT Inc. No. 5c Maxim sponsored by Jansma Construction, Wink Dog Motorsports and Fast Wings, qualified tenth out of 24 cars on hand at Paducah International Raceway, timing in at 13.401 seconds around the 3/8-mile clay oval. He then went out on won the first heat race of the evening, securing his place in the Crane Cams Dash. Finishing third in that, Hillier secured an inside second row starting position for the 35-lap A-Feature event.

Hillier ran fourth early in the race behind eventual winner Craig Dollansky, Jac Haudenschild and 20-time World of Outlaws champion Steve Kinser. Hillier would slip back to ninth by the end of the race, but he’ll take that after a missed A-Feature on Saturday at K-C Raceway in Ohio. Hillier’s efforts were good enough for a $2,050 payday. He entered the night 16^th in Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws points.

Before missing the A-Feature at K-C Raceway, Hillier finished 13^th at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Mich. They were washed out by inclement weather a few days earlier at Ohsweken Speedway in Ontario.

The Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series continues its 30^th Anniversary season on Wednesday with an event at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa. The tour races in Wisconsin this weekend with a Friday event at Wilmot Speedway and a Saturday show at Charter Raceway Park in Beaver Dam.
