The Culp's Automotive Young Guns Challenge!

Sponsored by Southwest Trucking, Hodge Motorsports, Floor Works, Louisiana Dirt & Gravel, Kevin Myers Construction, Jerry Myers Construction, Cagle & Delrio Racing and Culp's Automotive.

The Young Guns Challenge is for SIMS-type/IMCA-type Limited Mods & Southern Sport Mods but the drivers must be 15 years old or younger. The events will be run in conjunction with the USMTS events at Monticello and Fast Trax Speedways along the Arkansas-Louisiana border. There are no entry fees for the Young Guns.

The entrants will draw for heat race starting positions and we'll run two 8-lap heats if less than 18 cars or three 6-lap heats if 18 or more. Young Guns will then be the first feature of the night on the track and get introduced right before the USMTS features.

Night one will be at Monticello Speedway in southeast Arkansas on Friday, 7-27 and night two at Fast Trax Speedway in north central Louisiana on Saturday, July 28th. The Young Guns Challenge Champion will be the top points getter from both nights combined. If there's a tie, the one with the best finish at either track will get it. Still tied? Then it goes to the one with the most hardcharger points. Still tied? Then the highest finisher on night 2 at Fast Trax gets it. The champion gets the main trophy but a hardcharger plaque will also be awarded on both nights.

Monticello's weekly YG purse is 100 to win then 80-75-50-45-40-35-30-25 and 20 to start.

Fast Trax's YG weekly purse is 100 to win then 75,50 and 25 to start.

There will be at least $1800 handed out in addition to the above purses by the sponsors and the exact purse will be announced by Friday, July 20th. Every Young Gun who races both shows will get something extra in addition to the $20 and $25 start money and there will be a point fund for the top five!

FLOOR WORKS -- Lew Lyles
