Question in regards to concessions. Last time I went to LCS, I know it was not under new management, the prices were kinda crazy. Also, they allowed to bring your own beverage. What is the track policy under the new management and how are the prices at the concession going to be?
I do agree that this track ought to have some exciting racing with the sprint cars there. I have gone when the USMTS mods were there and they did put on a heck of a show.

If I may,
Higher prices these days at the concession stands 'might' be neccessary. Lower car counts, cost of running the place, insurance etc etc etc.
Virgil , from what I've picked up around here, is a racing fan- but he didn't want to go broke keeping a race track afloat.
EVERY SINGLE PROMOTER these days is only able to 'sell' to the public what is available. They are not lords of time and space with the ability to create a show that will pack the stands and fill the pits.
If they were, hot dogs would be free, driver payouts would be high, newspapers would do stories, people would clammer to the track every weekend, suitcases of money(and a small pistol) would flow out of the track office , and then if it really grew- some community like OkC would decide to build a conveniently located race track right in the middle of town---oh I dunno, maybe a spare spot at the fairgrounds could do. They might have to clear out a neighborhood to make that happen, but then it would be called progress.
Right now, higher prices are just another tool to use so that a race track won't lose more money than it could. They need all the help they can get. (with exception of the Chili Bowl, that was nuts! )

Brain, I was not trying to blast anyone in my post. I was merely asking a question. I understand that promoters have to find another source of income to help them keep the track afloat. But, sometimes those things can actually hurt them in the long run. It is a double edge sword. I expect to pay slightly hire prices at a concession than what is normal. Nature of the beast.
When I went to the track for the USMTS race a few years ago I bought a coke. The coke was in a can and the price was like $2.50 or $3.00 . There were regular 's there that had brought in their own beverages. After, I bought the coke I was like I wish I would have known about this before I got to the track.

By the way, I didn't mean to hit a nerve. I think a lot of you Erich, even if you seem to like 'orange and black' school colors. Not that there's anything wrong with that....................................
Kidding man, truce?

The concessions have improved greatly!! The prices are now average and the food is great. They have been working on the track day and night for the past two weeks and it is evident even from the road. The list of upgrades and improvements that John, Nicky, and crew have done is quite extensive.
The racetrack is looking great and the racing will be awesome! We will be opening this week the 23rd and invite both new fans and drivers to the LCS family! Don't forget 2 childrens bicycles will be given away the 30th!
There are a few more surprises that will be in place this weekend but I can't tell anybody what they are yet.
OCRS SPRINTS JULY 30TH!!!!

Mr. Webb has just purchased a transponder system for lap position and timing. This system is being installed today. Stock Cars, Limited Late Models, Limited Modifieds, Modifieds, and Sprints will be required to be on the system. The transponders will be able for rent at $15 or you can purchase a unit for $225. This will be a great addition for LCS! See you all at the track!!
