Brian26 is bound to become a producer when he retires from the tire plant if not before. He has just out done himself on the last Jan Opperman Tribute Video. It is a must to view. Thank You Brian for what you have done in such a short time.

I have loved supermodifieds/6 cyl modifieds (NCRA) and the cars and people related to such since the day I was born.

This site and the people that come here, will get the best damn job I can deliver.

Thank you for opening up this site Warren, it motivates me to work toward the next mile.

I wish I still had the spark. I used to drive the truck and work on the site. That is when I was delivering insulation in the 3 state area. The site was a daily work in progress. The first few years it was new photos everyday almost. I use to get dozens of e-mail a day and I updated the RFTP Ramblings with news and tidbits.

For one thing the site is full and the bandwidth as been exceeded for years. Sometime back after Jay Woodside passed away I just lost something. I blame it on being accused of raising money for a cause that some people question my honesty. After that I said I would never get involved in things like that again. In honesty it was probably my health slowly catching up with my bad health habits such as food and exercise. Cause I had a heart attack sometime after that. Those first few years I neglected my wife and my son who was in the good years at around 8 year plus. I spent all my time working on the site and rounding up info every night and all weekend. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I just have not had that spark I had the first 5 or so years. Oh well I did something I'm proud of and I gave back to the racing world in some way. Thanks everyone who has ever visited and I'm sure those memories came to life viewing what I set-up. OK now I have whinned for everybody to read so give me some cheese.

I will testify to this-

When it comes to getting the good stuff on this subject material, money goes out mo' than it comes in!

I knew I'd get offers , for dvds and such. But experience has taught me to be very mindful of how all this neat stuff looks so lucrative. It ain't.

The bottom line is, I get to take all you'se guys and gals to the moments that still live, for less than it costs me to go to the movies! I get a HUGE kick when I find NCRA material from the 70's!

In fact, we have a film right now coming in the next few days that just might, just might, have a few shots of my Dad's last race car! 2 cabinfever seasons so far and we still have a few surprises left!

Also I'd like to point out, I KNOW where there are some AWESOME CLIPS of early 1970's Tulsa-WITH SOUND! Yup, seen 4 seconds of it so far. Just have to find a way to get in touch with the guy (his name is Jack Frank) can anybody help us out?

Brian Jack Frank has mad several DVDS about Tulsa called "Fantastic Tulsa Films" I have the 2 of them and my in-laws have the last one of the 3 that he has made. He said tha he has 1,000s of hour of Tulsa film. One of his Tulsa films was on OETA yesterday. His e-Mail is 'TulsaFilms.com".That is what is on the dvd box. I will have to watch these today to see the speedway films. Tulsa Cable filmed the Saturday races in the 70's and showed them on the next Saturday morning. Maybe Cox Cable saved some of them.

Warren anybody That has a bad word to say about you needs his *** kicked!!!!! you have done more for the race fans in our area than anybody and have not got the credit you deserve.

Ray

My two cents worth.... As a young man I lived and breathed dirt track racing in Tulsa. I can probably still tell you the bus schedule that would get me to the track in time to see my hero's before they strapped themselves into those awesome machines. So life goes on and suddenly at fifty-something I had an early waking moment that reminded me of those glory years and how deeply it moved me as a young man. Not being much of a computer guy I did manage to find my way to the RFTP website and I cannot tell you how much the photos, stories and video clips have meant to me since. I understand getting so wrapped up in something that it causes other areas of your life to suffer. But believe me when I tell you that the work and effort has meant things to me that I cannot express. I'm sure I am not alone, but I want to thank all you guys for this place. I believe those men and machines were the heart and soul of what racing was always meant to be and without this place they would have been all but forgotten. Thank you very much for your work and effort.

Brian I watched "Fantastic Tulsa Films" volume 1 today and there was a very short clip of the Tulsa Speedway, I stoped and backed it up sevral times and think had it was the start of a modified heat race in 1974. It is still daylihgt and it looks like Don Engel is starting at the back of the heat. He would start at the back because of his point standing, he only ran at the big track in 1974. The clip has no sound on it. Jack Frank says that people have sent him thousand of hours of things that are no longer in Tulsa, mabe he has some more race car film. His e-mail is Tulsafilms.com. I will watch volume 2 tommorow to see if there are race car clips on it.

I emailed Tulsafilms last week and have not yet gotten a response. I also saw a clip on the film "Tulsa A-Z"- it was a nightime shot with sound, supers at speed, 2 seconds of it. On that film , they used the Fairgrounds for the letter "F". We can contribute to his cause if he'll help us. If anybody in Tulsa can get me in touch with Jack or his people, we would all really appreciate it.

We have a film without sound right now that COULD have sound on it if we found someone that could do SOUND AND 16MM FILM. The people we go to right now only do film to dvd conversions in regards to film. They can do some sound , but this film for some reason they can't.
