There was a Troy Matchen listed in the obits today........anyone know if it's the same Troy who raced at SFS?

Yes it was. The funeral is 1pm Sat at Sunset Cemetery. I believe the cemetery is off of Indian hills road right North of Norman.

Rest in peace Troy. Took a lot of nerve twisting a 6 cylinder crank like that and win races too, in that crowd of all things. You will be remembered Sir.

I believe Troy was the first to win a championship in the modified division without ever winning an A Feature. R.I.P Troy

My name is Troy Moxley. Jojon Moxley is my father,Troy Matchen was my Godfather.I was the luckiest kid in the world growing up with the OKLAHOMA RACING ASSOCIATION as part of my extended family. My mother wrapped me up in a blanket and took me to the State Fairgrounds Speedway to watch Troy race in 1967.I was two weeks old. From then on, until Troy and my dad hung up thier driving gloves and Snappon wrenches in 1983, I was dragged to every dirt track in the U.S. to go racing. I can remember on those weekends when we would go race out of town,either Troy or my dad,or sometime's both would show up at my school on friday and check me out early to "GO RACIN" !! What a lucky boy I was! Thank you to Troy for making a boy feel like the best "tearoff" engineer at the track. And thanks dad for teaching me how to "twist them wrenches" R.I.P. Troy.Keep that left front floatin just a bit,and keep 'er hooked up!!!
