Last Sprint Doubleheader This Weekend!

by John Lemon

Tulsa, Oklahoma (September 7, 2010) – The 2010 racing season is beginning to wind down yet there are still a few action packed events to take in prior to putting a lid on the season. This weekend is the final Oil Capital Racing Series sprint car "doubleheader" for OCRS this year and the racers are anxious to get in some more action before their speed rockets get their annual off-season overhaul.

The first stop takes us to the ultra fast Outlaw Motor Speedway in Oktaha Oklahoma on Friday night September 10th for the "OCRS Sprint Fall Furry". Promoted by Danny Womack and managed by Eric Shannon, OMS runs one of the best racing programs found anywhere. A contingent of OCRS warriors will be looking to "once and for all" put an end to Jamie Passmore's winning streak. Having won the last three OCRS events and 4 of the last five, The Rose Oklahoma resident is on such a roll that his peers are trying to figure out how to put a halt to the two-time defending champions streak. With but a few races remaining on the OCRS schedule, Passmore is all but guaranteed his third straight title.

While the run to the title seems to be under control, the race for the 2010 Brodix Cylinders / Broken Arrow Lawn & Garden OCRS "Rookie Of The Year" is being fiercely contested. Inola's Terry Easum holds an 18 point advantage (851-833) over Skiatook's Brady Demeree. The 2010 OCRS R.O.Y. will receive a brand new set of racing heads from Brodix. With only seven races remaining on the schedule, these two young racers will surely take this individual battle down to the wire.

Outlaw Motor Speedway will open their gates at 5pm with racing set to begin at 7pm. Hot laps start at 6:30 pm with OCRS drivers meeting immediately after.

Directions: Track is located 8 miles south of Muskogee and 11 miles north of Highway 40 on highway 69.

Track number is (918) 687-9200

OCRS Sprinters Head East On Saturday

West Siloam Speedway in West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma will be the Saturday stop of the weekend doubleheader. On the last visit to WSS on July 24th, the OCRS speed demons were greeted with a racetrack that had been resurfaced by new track promoters Joey and Johni Vaughn. The racing that summer evening was fast, furious and competitive as Moore's Oklahoma's Whit Gastineau outlasted Kyle Clark of Sand Springs and Tulsa's Mike Goodman. This Saturday night should produce more of the same action packed racing action WSS tends to produce. Evening temperatures have settled into a very comfortable zone that make a night outing very pleasant for the entire family.

A very special note from Joey and Johni Vaughn:

"Drivers and fans, we don't get to go around and Thank each and every one of you. We thank you for the great compliments on work being done on the track, the complaints help us know what we need to do different to make the track better. We will continue to try to make this a great place for fans and drivers to come watch and participate in the sport that we all love... DIRT TRACK RACING!" Hope to see you each and every Saturday."

Track location: Track is on HWY 412 about 4-5 miles west of the OK/AR state line.
