Practice is THIS THURSDAY and qualifying starts THIS FRIDAY, July 2nd! This is still a good deal even at a $175 entry fee at the gate. Pays $300 just to make the A-main and that total purse of $25,000 is as good as it gets for this class!!!
Thursday: gates open at 3pm, practice from 6 - 10pm
Friday: gates open at 4pm, hot laps start at 7:30pm
Saturday: gates open all day, hot laps start at 6:00pm
Pit Passes:
Thursday $20
Friday $25
Saturday $30

A question came up about some piston that IMCA allows in their Southern Sport Mod class that is a little different than what Battleground rules allow.
Promoter Mike Walling has informed me that if your motor is a LEGAL IMCA Southern Sport Mod motor then it WILL BE LEGAL at this race too.
Hope that clarifies it for y'all...

Due to Alex impacting a lot of racers in south Texas, expected heavy rains in Houston in the next 24-48 hours and a not-so-good forecast after that even, this event has been postponed until Fri & Sat, July 16th and 17th with practice now on Thurs, July 15th. With so many travelers coming in from far off, it was best to call this one early and try again in two weeks.
Enjoy your Independence Day weekend and we'll see you in 2 weeks. Battleground Speedway WILL attempt to race it's regular show THIS Saturday night, July 3rd.

Looks like a really good weather week from here. No more than a 30% chance of rain from now all the way through next weekend. If that holds, we're golden!
