If I have read other places correctly, Lake Country Speedway in Ardmore is now closed. That is too sad and not a good deal...

Never made it down this season as I am almost always @ Lawton. I hate to read that.

This is very bad news, I saw alot of great racing there and was looking forward to going back soon. I sure hope someone does something soon. Seems like another track closes down every month lately.

Can I change my name to ModifiedFanRob?

The car count and crowd was an issue I am told. It is a real shame as this race track produced alot of great racing.

Another track that closed down was Paris, Texas. We were there about a month ago with the SST. Very nice quarter mile track. Seemed to have a decent crowd but didn't have very many local cars. The ecomony is starting to hurt alot of track owners, car owners, and fans and you have to have all 3 to be sucessful. We took our 305 to Lawton for the ASCS show last Saturday and it paid 250.00 to start. If we would have taken our Sport mod and won the feature we would have gotten the same amount of money. It costs the same to tow to Lawton with either car and you know what we have more money in our Sport mod than we do the 305 Sprint.
