USAC Sprint, Midget & Ford Focus Stars

Monday, April 9th Show

INDIANAPOLIS – USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series winner Scotty Weir returns to the USAC Racing show Monday on RaceFanRadio.com, as Sprint car racing on the West Coast sees another record and the Midwest contingent gets into full swing. Weir became the 10th different winner Saturday at USA RacePark in Tucson, Arizona, leading all 30 laps of the race.

The 2006 USAC National Sprint Car Series Rookie of the Year will be joined by a pair of drivers hoping to pick up the 2007 award. Neil Shepherd of Warsaw, Ind. and Chris Windom of Canton, Ill. are gearing up for their first full seasons on the National circuit, poised to kick off Saturday at Twin Cities Raceway Park in North Vernon, Ind. Shepherd is the son of All Star Circuit of Champions veteran Terry Shepherd, while Windom dominated the 2006 USAC Kenyon Midget Car Series season.

In addition, eight-time Dynamics Inc. champion team principal Richard Hoffman joins the show, and will talk about his drivers Dave Steele and Jerry Coons Jr.

The USAC Ford Focus Midget Car Series gets into full swing this weekend too as three divisions get underway. While the Carolina/Virginia and Northeast series begin their fourth and third seasons respectively, the Utah series debuts this weekend at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and series coordinator Bob Brewer will talk about how the series came about.

USAC/CRA PR Coordinator Robert Mayson or Western Series Coordinator Chris Morgan will also join the show early in the evening to update listeners on the progress of the series in 2007. Other guests may also join the show.
