From everything I keep seeing - the storm that was predicted at 1-3 inches down there ended up tripling that. Not sure what fell at the track - but I would think if it's more like 7-9 - 24 hours wont be enough to melt all that off. And even if it did - what actual conditions it would produce for parking, pits, and track proper.
well. hope for the best. We had just planned on saturday but then it was moved to sat. and sun. - so we thought of maybe making a weekend of it. But just don't think we are going to be able to do that. If it was 30 minutes away maybe - but not 4 hours away. It seems they cant even make up their minds on the forecast. Of course I am lookin at the same site that last oct. down at cowtown said the current temp was 73 and sunny - when in fact it was 51 and raining. Damn weather needs to stop screwing with Cowtown! lol.
Individually I kind of hope this race gets moved to one of the next couple weekends. But thats just me, there are a lot of people from locations farther away than mine who have made a lot of ironclad plans and I can't hope for something knowing it would be at a cost to them. I just hope everything works out for the best - even if its not for me this weekend. Hell, its Valentines Day weekend - there is still much fun to be had :)

Back up the bus a minute:
Record Weather Event Moves Cowtown Midgets/Mods/600’s to March
Kennedale TX (2/12/10) by DarinShort.com. 24 hours ago, “1 to 3 inches of snow” was predicted for the DFW area, and Cowtown Speedway was prepared to accommodate, by shuffling the weekend schedule to Saturday and Sunday. But the reality turned into an all-time DFW record 24-hour snowfall total – in excess of 11 inches.
So, instead of fighting Mother Nature on Valentine’s Day weekend, Cowtown Speedway is rescheduling the entire Cowtown Midget Championships, Fast 50 and ASCS2 series events ahead three weeks, to the first weekend in March. The exact weekend schedule will be announced early next week.
Track promoter Bo Rawdon comments: “We have equipment to move the snow, but many of our teams and fans don’t and can’t even get out of their driveway, so in the interest of safety, we’ll just postpone this event and hopefully the next all-time record weather event won’t happen on that weekend too.”
177 drivers from 11 states have entered the event in advance. For those teams returning in March, they are still entered and there is nothing additional those teams need to do. If you are one of those teams that cannot return the first weekend in March, simply email [email protected] with your intent to withdraw from the event by February 28. New entries will be accepted at the track website, and registration is up and running.
To those fans that had purchased advanced 2-day passes, the same applies. If you are coming the first weekend in March, then there is nothing further you need to do. If you cannot make it, please email [email protected] by February 28.
Again, no one predicted a ‘historic’ weather event in the DFW area, but now that it has happened, we’ll clean up the mess and try it again in March. Click www.CowtownSpeedway.com for the latest in event news.

I'm going to try, I don't see any reason I shouldn't.....other than mother nature. I work for P.S.O.(the electric company) So I got a little behind and still have plenty to do to get my car put together.

correct me if I am wrong - but I really do think that this race taking place 3 weeks later in early march rather than in Feb. (on Valentines Day at that) should boost the car count quite a bit in all of the classes. Not saying there will be 100 mods or likewise in other classes.
But I kind of do think that among the 170 entries that there could be another 50 or so total pop in to race. I fully expect the field to pass 200 for sure. Maybe just a handful more. For the sake of nuthin - I'd say prob about 10 more non wing, 5 more outlaw, maybe few more restricted, 10 maybe much more in mods, and near 40 total in midgets. Early March is great - the northern tracks haven't quite started yet - but many racecars are probably ready to go. I hope maybe more of the KS, MO, and upper plains drivers make their way down. Well no matter how it plays out - I bet it will be a hell of a race - prob twice as good than what it woulda been if run this past weekend.
Lets just hope for warmer weather! ;)

I'm still sticking with my initial 'guess' of 200 once the green flag falls:
| 35 |
Mid |
| 54 |
Mod |
| 48 |
NW |
| 35 |
Outlaw |
| 28 |
Rest
